Nicholas Wade Briney (b. April 15, 1990) redshirted in 2010 after transferring from Coffeyville Community College, where he recorded 56 tackles (37 solo), one pass breakup, one fumble recovery and 0.5 sack.

His best season was 2008, when he saw action in all nine games and earned academic all-conference honors. He was suffered from an injury in 2009 and only saw time in four games, which caused a significant statistical drop-off.

Had he stayed healthy, Briney might have attracted more scholarship interest from schools. Instead, we got him to walk on, which I count as a pretty good bargain in our favor. You can see his highlights here.
