92 DAYS TO KICKOFF: Vai Lutui

Vai Lutui |
Position: Defensive Tackle Previous College: Mt. San Antonio Community College Projection: Second-String Status: On Scholarship |
Continuing the theme of incoming defensive linemen with NFL bloodlines that began with Ian Seau, the cousin of Arizona offensive lineman Deuce Lutui, Vaikalafi Lutui, should be arriving on the K-State campus any day now.
Born March 3, 1987, he'll be one of the oldest players on the roster. Like Bo Tillman, I'm optimistic that Lutui at least can get into the two-deep rotation at defensive tackle, if not become a starter in his own right.
But it's worth tempering that enthusiasm with cold reality. For whatever reason, Lutui only was rated a two-star player by Rivals.com. His only other Division I offer was from Utah State.
Granted, Bill Snyder is known for finding diamonds in the rough, especially at the JUCO level. But let's not declare this guy the second coming, lest he show up overweight like Javonta Boyd and fail to contribute.

Vaikalafi Lutui
Vaikalafi Lutui doesn’t have a redshirt left. He graduated West high school in 2005, took two years off, went to Mt. San Antonio Community College in 2008 and took a redshirt in 2009 and played his RS sophomore year in 2010.
Duly noted. Thanks for the clarification.
It can be hard to find solid info on some of these new recruits.
