K-State Slate: 6.2.11
Closer James Allen and his 1.35 ERA are K-State's trump card heading into Friday's 6:00 p.m. matchup with Stanford in the Fullerton Regional.
The value of athletic scholarships was a hot topic at the Big 12 meetings. If you're going to have scholarships cover the total cost of attendance, how do you account for different costs of attendance at different schools? Do the golf teams get full cost of attendance even though they don't bring in any money? What about the fact that very few athletic departments operate in the black?
Barking Carnival has a former UT football player's take on institutional control and compliance with NCAA rules.
SB Nation's Alabama blog, Roll Bama Roll, takes a look at Jim Tressel and the college football coach's conundrum. Mostly, I just like the word 'conundrum.'

Hey AA, can you please tell Ubben to kiss our collective asses?

"If you don't want to work, become a reporter. That awful power, the public opinion of the nation, was created by a horde of self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditch digging and shoemaking and fetched up journalism on their way to the poorhouse." - Mark Twain
Ubben DOES have a habit of periodically giving props to UT.
I’m not sure of his collegiate background, but I do know that he’s been accused of being a UT homer. As for his opinions on KSU’s helmet, he doesn’t even offer any real critique, so I’d just ignore it. (BTW, for sucking, the Powercat Logo sure has been ripped off by enough schools.)
Innovators look at the same thing as everyone else, yet see something different.

Ubben's a Hawg
Went to Ark.
Yea I usually don’t get too worked up over someone else’s opinion on something like that, but seriously!?!?! 10th? It’s one of the most recognizable logos in all of sports. For only being 22yr old, I would say it’s fairly iconic for its age.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
I don't really care ... just enough to make one post about it ...
But, I’m sorry … you have to be completely gone in the head (or a Clone alumn) to rank Iowa State’s helmet over KSU’s.
And THAT is a SCIENTIFIC FACT!
p.s. as KSB previously noted … KSU’s logo has been copied by a hell of a lot of high schools for being so shitty. Opinions supposedly can’t be wrong, but I think Ubben did a solid job prison raping that theory.
