Why K-State and Tate Forcier need each other
Tate Forcier running the football (via WolvTV)
Part 2 of the Tate Forcier seris. We need to realize that we need Forcier and strangely, he needs us. Lets list the facts:
Why do we need Tate Forcier?
1. Depth
Quarterback competition is always good. Collin Klien even agrees. Having Forcier in the middle of Tuggle and Klien will push all three to work harder and learn from each other. Plus, if one gets injured, we have two reliable resources. Running the ball a lot will lead to injurys. That's just what happens when you run the ball a lot. So, we have to prepared to have reliable backups (if Forcier doesn't take the starting job).
2. Publicity
The press loves Forcier. There is more articles about him than Russel Wilson, strangely enough. Why they like him, I don't know (Maybe the fact that he went to Michigan???). But, we are far more likely to be televised and will get more hype and (another and) will finally get the respect of the media. FINALLY!
3. Stepping Stone
After Klien and Tuggle are long gone, who is going to be our starting QB? The Sophmore QB Sams, or the True Freshman Bender (If he comes at all)? They are a bit too young for my taste, and I'm sure Snyder thinks the same way. Having Forcier play QB will give these young guys one more year to prepare before they start. Hopefully they will learn a few things from him too. Klien learned a lot from Carson Coffman after backing him up for a year, and now is useing his techniques in his passing game. Expect a young QB to learn the same way from Forcier.
4. A Passing Game
What is always the flaw of K-State QBs? (Besides Freeman of course) Passing! K-State QB's always seem to have trouble with the passing game. But, Tate Forcier was good enough to start at a elite program as a redshirt freshman! And, yes, he can pass the ball. He isn't afraid. (Maybe he is too genorous with the ball sometimes) (Nothing Snyder can't fix).
5. ESPNTop150 Recruit
Alright, maybe this one isn't a neccesity, but it is a luxury we want to have if we can. I recently learned from the Manhattan Mercury that Bryce Brown was the best recruit ever to come to K-State. Really? He's good, but our best ever? You'd think we could get better players than him (even if they are hard to find). Tate Forcier would add some more top talent to our recruiting. Someone who is actually labled and admired. Oh, and by the way, the last time we brought in a ESPN150 Recruit, he was a huge success. I think we all know who that was.
6. Runner
We already figured out what was the flaw with all K-State QB's, but their strength? The running game! If you are a QB at K-State, rushing is mandatory. What about "pass happy" Forcier? 730 yards on 66 carrys in high school. That's impressive. He was originally labled as a dual threat QB during recruiting (Our kind of guy!) . Forcier also rushed for 240 yards as Michigan his first year. So, he can do it. In fact, Big 10 expert Adam Rittenburg thinks an offense that lets Forcier use his legs is best suited for him. Hmmm....do we let our QBs run?
7. Icon
Last year our public figure was none other than the great Daniel Thomas. But, who is going to be our public figure in the future? Bryce Brown? He hasn't even won the starting running back job yet. Collin Klien? He just doesn't strike me as the kind of person who is known by football fans nation-wide. But, Tate Forcier? He is already known by most football fans! He could be the guy who when thinking about K-State football, will be the first to pop up. Imagine how much K-State fans would pay to see him play.
8. New WR?
Earlier this year, rumors arose that Collin Klien would switch back to playing WR. (Rumors started by Daniel Sams). But, that turned out not be the case, as Tuggle ended up not being as great as we thought he would be. So, Collin Klien is back playing QB. But, what if next year Tate Forcier comes in and takes the cake? What would we do with the backup Klien? We turn him into a WR. So, by having Forcier join, we don't trade one offensive strength for another, but actually add one.
Why Tate Forcier needs us
1. A decent home
Jeez, this guy is considering teams like Montana and San Diego! Why not take a team that at least is in Division 1? Unlike those places we actually get televised and actually have fans go to our games. Oh, and what about USC and Auburn? Auburn is too facinated with Russel Wilson to even notice Forcier. USC? Won't even let him visit. Why? Let's get to that later.
2. The "Rebirth"
Tate Forcier mentioned after originally committing to Miami that he "was eager to be part the rebirth of Miami football." He wants a rebirth? What better place than K-State? Bill Snyder has come back after building one of the best years in NCAA history. He is already improving his team, as every year they have risen higher and higher in wins. Before you know it, K-State will be winning big again. And Forcier will be a big part of that, if he chooses to come here.
3. Academic Warning? No problem.
One of the reasons that Tate Forcier was forced to drop out of Michigan was because of his grades. He was academicly ineligiable for the Gator Bowl. But, K-State has dealt with Academic problems before, most recently in a man named Daniel Thomas. Thomas was inelligable his first year at K-State and wasn't allowed to sign with Florida because of grades. But, K-State soon got him on the right track. K-State knows how to deal with athletes with academic troubles, so Forcier shouldn't be anything new. Kansas State University certainly isn't a Ivy League School, so Tate should survive. And even if Forcier were to become inelligable, he would have capable backups behind him.
4. Expirenced Coaching
Rich Rodrigiez (Spelled right?) only had been a coach for a year when he first met Forcier. Without much expirence, he failed to produce a change in Michigan's football program (maybe a change for the worse). Forcier won't have that kind of problem if he comes to K-State. Bill Snyder is one of the oldest head coaches still active, and knows more football than most other football coaches. He has turned many a player into a star, and can do the same with Forcier. And if all goes well, Forcier could find himself in the NFL (With Snyder's help of course).
5. Icon
This ties into the point at the top. Forcier can become K-State's public figure. He can do it all, run and pass. He is already known by most football fans. He could be the new Daniel Thomas. His picture could be all over town. He could be a superstar! People would come to Manhattan just to watch him play. Replica jerseys with his number could sell like wildfire! This is something that Forcier isn't going to get at a place like San Diego State or Montana.
6. Fan Support
Check out this link. Look below at the comments. Look at how many nasty comments you will find about Forcier. Auburn and USC fans are squealing for him to drop them. Michigan fans are laughing at him. Imagine the whole football community hating you. All but one. K-State fans are not the kind of fans who hate their own players. We support them through thick and thin. We are with you 100%. When Coffman struggled, we heard Big 12 fan bases chew him out. Did we join in?No. That's something no big name school can give you. Support. Maybe that is the one thing that can turn Forcier's life around. For once, someone beliving in him.
You can talk all you want about Tate Forcier's Character Issues, Academic Problems or even life problems. You can call him selfish. stupid and ignorant. But, he can change. Bill Snyder is a mighty man. He can transform a program that for 2 years couldn't even win a game to one of the best programs in NCAA history. Snyder can change programs, attitudes, and even lives. Give him a chance with Forcier's.
*We have enough depth that even if Forcier were to become a character issue, we could bench him in a snap.

Immediate Press/Sports Release: January 20, 2011- Robert “Tate” Forcier University Of Michigan Sophomore Quarterback
Why do we all wait until we are at our lowest point to seek God’s help? I’ve been kicked, pushed, knocked down, publicly berated, belittled, emasculated and more. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to give up or feel the victim. The humility of it all is indescribable and that is exactly my point. I had to reach rock bottom in order to see the light, and for that, I am thankful. It was not until then, I realized that it was my lack of accountability and maturity and not to pass blame.
I do hope all my young fans forgive me and benefit from my lessons that I have learned. Be grateful for what you have and be humble for your successes. Don’t wait to ask God into your life as he will help you see things clearer.
In summary, I believe, I will become a better student and a person of stronger character from these experiences at Michigan. I can proudly state,“I worked hard on the practice field, in the film room and at meetings” after all, football is my passion. I had fun celebrating with the fans. I even competed hard while injured as a true freshman through the last (8) games in 2009, but I always played the game giving it my all. I am proud to have been part of Michigan Football history and will always cherish the memory.
The last few weeks I worked extremely hard to catch back up. I really wanted to stay. I was not giving up on Michigan, but in the end, it was made clear they had given up on me. With that being said, its time for me to go. I promise the Michigan family and fans I will make you proud again.

Who are you trying to convince?
"If you don't want to work, become a reporter. That awful power, the public opinion of the nation, was created by a horde of self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditch digging and shoemaking and fetched up journalism on their way to the poorhouse." - Mark Twain
That's who's stubborn here
Interesting.
When you say the media “loves this guy” you do realize what you mean don’t you? Look at how much drama this guy creates for not even playing for any school right now.
For some reason, a guy who self promotes himself in HS with a website, doesn’t seem like the ‘Bill Snyder prototypical qb’.
On a side note, he sucks at geography. I don’t want to go to Miami because I’ll be too far away from my family, and it will be hard for them to get to my games to watch me. So I’m going to go to Auburn, Alabama…much closer to San Diego, and much easier to fly into…wait…
To each their own, but no thank you on this side of the table.

Yes, what we need is a possibly suicidally depressed quarterback.
Ummm… no?

I'm guessing he meant "were" instead of "will"
and “killing” must be an unfortunate synonym in this case for “griping”…or at least I hope.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
Yes, I found that metaphor for "griping about" very disturbing as well.

Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
Rock Chalk Talk
There were some very serious win in this post, from several perspectives, including--but not limited to--spelling.
If I didn’t dislike Forcier so much, I probably would have just laughed. It almost makes me wonder if we’re not simply getting trolled.
