80 DAYS TO KICKOFF: Travis Tannahill

#80 Travis Tannahill |
Position: Tight End Previous College: None Projection: Starter Status: On Scholarship |
Travis Tannahill (b. Feb. 8, 1990) was one of two freshmen in his class to see immediate playing time under Bill Snyder, the other being Braden Wilson. He's basically been one of our top two tight ends ever since.
I was surprised to learn that he never redshirted, but I guess I confused his grayshirt year (2008) with that. While he still has one to use, that obviously won't happen unless he gets injured.
Hopefully, he won't, because Tannahill blossomed as a pass-catching threat last year after only catching two passes in all of 2009. And he's always been a stellar blocker, which is part of the reason Snyder played him so early.
Along with Andre McDonald (and perhaps Zach Trujillo will join the mix this year), he forms one-half of a potent set of bookends that will provide our quarterback with downfield options, a release valve or perhaps just more time to pass.

2013 recruit Tanner Wood
Looks like a large recruit considering he has a couple of years of growing before he enrolls at KSU. Good speed and GPA. Does anyone know what he has accomplished that Snider offered him a scholarship so early?
yea I saw that as well
Real bizarre, given the one picture I saw of him. He doesn’t look big at all, then again which HS juniors do? But yea I’m not sure what he’s accomplished because Conway doesn’t throw the ball much at all (think GT or AFA).
In all honesty, other than being able to “get through” Snyder’s intense playbook, I’m not sure what a good GPA does for the team.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
