It was all for the academics...don't you know?

Moving to the Big 10 has really improved Nebraska's academic standing

I find it funny that all of the Big 12 AAU schools...
(including evil Texas) voted to keep UNL, while a couple of their new Big 10 friends voted against them.
Have fun up north Shucksters!

Sure this is funny, but can we enjoy it?
KSU isn’t a member either.

Doesn't matter.
I enjoy ANYTHING bad that happens to the Nubs. And this is DEFINITELY bad.

We aren't the ones who tell everyone how superior we are...
…only to be the first school ever voted out of the AAU.

You HAD to know THIS was coming:
It’s really all Texas’s fault, even though they, you know, voted AGAINST kicking the Nubs out.

But
they only did it so they could have “plausible deniability”…because, you know, that argument makes complete sense and isn’t crazy at all. It certainly isn’t soul-numbingly stupid.
I mean, how else could Nebraska, the Ivy League of the mid-west, fall out of the AAU? It must be a conspiracy against the university, its the only explanation!
On a more K-State note, does this mean our agriculture research the main reason we’re not close to getting an invite to the AAU? And are we doing anything to fix that (I know that was one of the goals Schultz laid out in his 25 year plan)?
once the new federal lab is up and running
then that will help with the research dollar aspect.

Ah, someone over at CN finally noticed this thread.
Apparently, we are nothing more than petty, jealous cretins. I am so glad that arrogant fanbase is someone else’s problem now—and that they’re finally slapped with something that’s nearly impossible to just explain away.

There are threads about this...
…on Rock M Nation and Burnt Orange Nation, too.
And yes, anytime we make fun of Nebraska, it’s because we are jealous. I’m so jealous of that non-AAU school. I wish we could be like them.

yawn
If you have an entitled attitude, we will make fun of you. Nothing personal, just a reaction we have from dealing with the school downriver.
Honest, we really are jealous of your academic programs that are better than K-State’s. Please let me know which ones they are. Thanks in advance.

I started the RMN thread
and mine mocks Nebraska a LOT more and is much more insulting to them. I was surprised when I saw that comment at CN, and not directed to us.
Rational Mizzou Talk, whether you like us or not.
I wondered about that, too.
Perhaps it’s because we had the temerity to front-page it? Whatever the reason, being called names by douche-y Nubs is a badge of honor that we wear proudly here at BOTC.

Probably because we had the audacity to start beating them first.
Their facemask-fueled hatred of us simply predates their Gabbert-fueled hatred of you and is more deeply entrenched in their bones.
