K-State Slate: 4.29.11

K-state_slate_icon_medium

Bryce and Arthur Brown are driving interest in the K-State spring game, writes Austin Meek. If you're going, take some pictures and write a report in the FanPosts.

The Bat Cats travel to Stillwater this weekend for a three-game series with Oklahoma State. A series win would be an unexpected surprise. As Willia Wannabe posted yesterday, Baseball America has K-State on the right side of the bubble for the NCAA Tournament.

Following up on yesterday's attendance link, K-State filled The Octagon to almost 101 percent of its capacity, on average.

Sorry, short links today. If you see anything else of note, put it in the comments.

Jeremy Jones signed

Sign another point guard, lose another point guard. Is that how recruiting is supposed to work? I guess we will have to wait and see until Wednesday.

does anyone know

why we don’t get a spring game ticket like we used to with our season football tickets? I mean 5 bucks isn’t a big deal, but I was just wondering. Also, I forget what the attendance has been in the past. I seem to remember a year with more than 30,000.

During the Ron Prince years...

I don’t think Snyder wants anyone if he could have it that way.

Well, bandwagon mates, it was a fun ride.

The scholarship conundrum has apparently become one spot clearer. Nick Russell to transfer per @Collegiate_Hoop. Not shocking, but disappointing nonetheless. I don’t think even his biggest detractors would argue the kid doesn’t have some offensive ability.

Now the question shifts to who is the other departure? Myles or Martavious? Or someone shocking?

Anyone but Myles would be shocking to me, even Martavious ...

Nick’s going to enjoy basketball a whole lot more for the rest of his career, I would think. Too bad it didn’t work out at KSU, because he really has some good offensive tools/intincts.

cool, now we are taking as gospel anonymous sources

Per source, Kansas State guard Nick Russell will transfer

Let’s wait until someone actually names the source and such rather than get all worked up over something with no verified worth.

Collegiate_Hoop usually gets great scoops.

Plus, is it at all surprising that Nick Russell would be transferring?

by yeahboozin on Apr 29, 2011 3:22 PM CDT up reply actions

again I'll wait for an actual source.

if it is better for Nick to transfer, then I hope it works out for him. Otherwise I’d like to see him continue to improve and do well at K-State.

I do think it's bullshit

How most rankings list of this sort do ‘devalue’ agriculture research, still take that Nebraska!

It sounds like that devaluation...

…has more to do with who the money is coming from (private sources) and how it’s distributed (non-competitively), rather than because these groups look down their nose at agricultural research.

We'll carry the banner high!

Well that assuages my anger with that sort of crap

Being a proud aggie, I take offence to any slights towards agriculture.
