RPI WATCH: 3/10/2011

It's so refreshing when bad things happen to bad people.

Yes, this is a day late and a dollar short, but what did you expect? I was at Sprint Center all day yesterday, for all the good it did.

Today's RPI WATCH will publish at midnight. Deal with it. ;-D

Opening-round action at the Big 12 Tournament saw Oklahoma and Oklahoma State pop the bubbles of Baylor and Nebraska, respectively.

One was a blowout of a crappy team missing a key player and one was a squeaker over a halfway-decent team, but the end result was the same.

Those two teams, one playing in its final tournament this year and the other destined for the NIT, advanced to the second round to join NCAA hopefuls Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M.

Colorado and Missouri, of course, advanced with nail-biting wins over Iowa State and Texas Tech, the bottom two teams in the Big 12.

In the SWAC Tournament, Texas Southern took the NCAA Tournament from last year's holder, UAPB.
