Who's angry with a #2 finish now?
KSU will likely finish ranked #8 in the BCS polls which is also the same rank they were picked to finish in the Big XII. (Experts insert foot now)
"This is why I believe that there should not be any kind of preseason or BCS ranking until week 6 or 8. No one knows what's going to happen and which stars will shine and for those who will not. (Enter Bryce Brown)"
I know a lot of you disagreed with my post late last month regarding my preference on OSU winning out and KSU getting the #2 spot for a BCS bid but now it's happened and I couldn't be happier.
Most of the feeds I've read today predict KSU vs Michigan in the Sugar bowl (a match up I like) or KSU in the Fiesta Bowl.
C'MON NOW FELLAS! and ladies, How angry can you be that we don't share a conference title now? 3 way tie sucks in my opinion! Fiesta Bowl Champs sounds really really nice! $$$Cash money for the University!$$$

Well, I'm happy with a #2 finish
I would also be happy with a co-champion finish.
In hindsight, I really wish we could have played a few playes differently against OSU, and we could possibly have the #1 spot all to ourselves. Oh well.
The only thing that will sting about the #2 finish is if we get snubbed by the BCS (and it IS possible that could happen).

Right you are! Va Tech!
A national more name brand school? No disrespect but the only reason people know who Va Tech is because of the shooting there years ago..
Don't sweat the petty stuff. Don't pet the sweaty stuff!
Am I angry? No, 2nd place is a great finish, especially given our expectations this year.
But I certainly would have preferred a championship.
I don’t think we get any extra cash from a BCS bowl anyway, that goes to the conference and is split evenly. We do get travel money, but that’s spent during the bowl trip.
I don't think everyone said they would be mad about seconde
But what is so hard to understand that championships are forever?
Let me guess, you’re under 30*.
*not an insult, just a reflection of the instant gratification generation. Better Bowl (cool today) v Championship (cool forever).

HEY!
I’m under thirty!
I don’t need instant gratification!
On a completely unrelated note, I think Snyder has to go, because it’s already his third year and we don’t have a national championship yet.

I really hope that is sarcasm.

I saw the sarcasm...
I had my sarcasm goggles on last night when I read his comment. :)

Or rather, I was trying to act like I needed instant gratification, even though I claimed I didn't need it.
Not sure if that is sarcasm or what, but the intent was comedy.

I would rather have a share of the conference title and an Alamo bowl berth than a BCS berth

Alamo?
You seriously have lost it! KSU gets snubbed by the BCS and get a Cotton Bowl invite. Yet you want a alamo bowl.
You Sir on off your rocker
Don't sweat the petty stuff. Don't pet the sweaty stuff!
No
Once again, in 3 years, no on will give a crap about which bowl KSU went to. The only things that matters are conference and national titles.

Don't agree
People are still talking about KU winning the Orange Bowl and being awful this year. Real fans ALWAYS remember team success..
I think you’re a little mislead or biased
Don't sweat the petty stuff. Don't pet the sweaty stuff!
Do you suppose that has something to do with that win being KU's ONLY football highlight in 25+ years?
And you’re right, I am biased towards conference titles, no matter how split, than bowl wins.

BOYCOTT ESPN!
KU has never won a B12 championship, or believe me that's what they'd be talking about
The only people who value BCS bowls more are programs like West Virginia who are in conferences everyone expects you to be able to win.
How many KSU fans bring up the 97 Fiesta bowl win compared to the 2003 B12 championship?
There’s no comparison. A split title is no worse, none at all.

@ BLACKCATS Under 30
It’s hard not to take offense to that Sir. Because you’re older, you’re more wiser? Because I’m 28 yrs old I get excited over shiny things?
Pretty low… It’s been in my experience that “SHARED” title don’t mean anything. I don’t know how many other boards you’ve participated on but how many times have you seen an OU or UT fan type the words “Count the championships” and then immediately you have a smarter more witty person spat “Shared title don’t count since you don’t win them outright.”
Don't sweat the petty stuff. Don't pet the sweaty stuff!
On the other hand...
No one says we finished second a million times either. Points can be made for both sides.

It's not really a wiser thing
And I’m not that much older. It could however be a smarter thing. People can say whatever they want on the internets, but whether a championship is co- or not, it’s still goes in the record book, media guide, stadium wall, my left ass cheek and everywhere else as one thing, and Championship.
If you can’t understand that, I don’t care if your 10 or 100, you’re a furking idiot. Ask a fan of Michigan or Nebraska who won the Championship in 1997. A Championship is a Championship is a Championship. Second place is the first loser. Insert your own cliches here. I’m done. You can’t seem to figure this out. In ten years ask your self what bowl we went to this year. Cause I know we went to a bowl in 2001, but I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head which one without thinking about it but I can tell you the year we won the B12 Championship.

Insight Bowl
I know this only because I was there…and it sucked ass.
But your point remains.
We won the championship in 2003. Final score 35-7. And it was amazing! :)

That and 1998 permanently burned in our memories.
