Snyder Era O's Greats! Where are they now?
Been sitting back, reflecting on my career as a football player and thought to myself, "I ended up doing the right thing joining the military and have done rather wll for myself, I wonder what those guys I had inspired to play like did after KSU."
It's a short list. Just the ones that I could remember off the top of my head. Just some FYI from EXTREME Boredom! Add some below if you'd like.
Michael Bishop--QB--Drafted in 1999 by the New England Patriots (Davey Obrien Award Winner)
Jonathan Beasley--QB--1999-2001-- (01' Cotton Bowl MVP-99' Holiday Bowl MVP) Research showed he was an assistant coach but nothing concrete.
Ell Roberson--QB--2001--2003--Undrafted in the NFL--2003 Big XII Champion MVP (Played for Montreal Alouettes 05'-06')
Josh Freeman--QB--2006-2008-- 17th Overall Draft pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Josh Scobey--RB--Drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2002 (Currently plays for the Las Vegas Locomotives)
Darren Sproles--RB--2001-2004-- 4th round draft pick to the Sand Diego Chargers. Currently Plays for New Orleans Saints
Daniel Thomas--RB--2009-2010-- 2nd Round Draft pick to the Miami Dolphins
Quincy Morgan--WR--2001 KSU graduate--2nd round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns

Brandon Banks--WR--2008-2009--Undrafted, Signed with Washington Redskins.
More to come I'm sure but like I said, these were just the front runners who popped in my head. If there are any of you older than 28 and have some historical guys we young pups should know about please feel free to enlighten us...
Defensive Impact players will be up next...

Didn't Bishop set a bunch of AFL records?
I know he played briefly for the Kansas City Bombers, because he was on their roster for the only AFL game I’ve ever attended.
Would you like some Freys with that?
Played for the Grand Rapids Rampage as well
Everyone thought I was crazy wearing a KState jersey to the game (GR colors at red and black) till he came over to say hi after the game. They used to let you down on the field after the games for various reasons, this one was a fundraiser.

Ummm..
I heard about him setting a rushing record for a single game. But other than that I really don’t know. To be totally honest, these are really the only players I remember. I balme it not on lack of interest but for lack of understanding. As a kid I thought the players were “robot like” not human beings…

Montana State...good memory.

Also, Roberson is some sort of a securities advisor or something down in Texas
I can’t remember exactly, but it is in that Manhattan Mercury story posted by GTCat earlier.
Would you like some Freys with that?
Securities Advisor?
Financial or Defense you think?

Close enough.

I'm pretty positive
That Bishop won a couple Canadian titles after starting as a backup before the starter got hurt.

For Toronto I think.

I thought he played for the Calgary Stampede?

There's a few O-Lineman running around I'm sure of
Lilja, Jeromy Clary, hell I met Nick Leckey when he was on the Green Bay scout team but he never made it farther than that I don’t think. I know there’s a couple lineman I’m missing but that’s all I can recall on that front. Anyone know what happened to Shad Meier(Obviously Kerry and Dylan’s brother)drafted by the Titans as a TE in I don’t remember what year.

Not Nick Leckey...
Meant Andy Eby or something like that…shit I forget how it’s actually spelled.

By the way
Does anyone remember Taco Wallace? Played for the Seahawks for awhile.

a couple that haven't been mentioned.

KSU linemen have had decent success as mentioned above
another one is Todd Weiner…played for 10 or 11 years in the NFL (mainly for Atlanta)
Darnell McDonald – WR – played for the Bucs for awhile (and had a K-Swiss ad)
Mitch Running WR played for the Carolina Panthers for awhile.
Before my time, but Steve Grogan and Lynn Dickey (both QBs) had careers in the NFL. I think Grogans was more successful and he played for the Patriots if my history is correct.
Rock Cartwright (FB) played for the Redskins (still playing I think)
Kevin Lockett played for the Chiefs for a few seasons I believe. Aaron works for Conoco/Phillips now I believe.
I think Paul Coffman (Carson and Chase’s dad) played TE in the NFL.
Andre Coleman played for the Chargers (and ran a punt or kickoff back in a Super Bowl).
First to identify a TEWWT (so what if it was unintentional)
And now I notice the title of the post is "Snyder era"
so you can scratch off Dickey, Grogan, and Coffman. Everyone else still applies though.

Terrance Newman - one of my favorite players
Still playing at Dallas.
I remember we’d match him up man against the other teams best receiver, many of whom are playing in the NFL, and he’d completely shut them down the entire game.
Well, I would have mentioned him and others
but Ks8ter was trying to focus on offensive players in this post. I believe he is going to have another one of these for defensive players.
But I agree, Ter-rance New-man clap, clap, clap clap clap was a very special player.
