Last night there was a little event in Bramlage Coliseum where the Cats beat the Colonials 69-56 and Stan's post game interview with Coach Martin included the memorable line 'we played like first graders.' A more detailed analysis of the game by TheBigE, Ashley's summary fan post and K-State sports has some quotes. Next up is a road trip to Virginia Tech on 12/4 @ 5:30 p.m. EST, it could be rather ugly if the Cats play like first graders.
K-State volleyball swept Wichita State and according to this article the Lady Cats are the 'longtime Big 12 nemesis' of Nebraska, which is hopefully true since the Lady Cats take on Nebraska tonight @ 7 p.m. The game is available online at huskers.com according to K-State sports.
The pig growers are coming, the pig growers are coming. Not only does Iowa produce a lot of corn, they also produce a bunch of pigs. Kansas does all right in producing wheat and beef so this is the throw down football game between steak and ham, wheat and corn. The game is at 11:30 CST on Fox Sports. Somebody on this site who likes math decided to derive a method to determine the true champion and don't forget to vote in the weekly football poll.
I'm not sure if it is comedy or tragedy but the Aggies fired their football coach as EMAW 4 Ever pointed out in a fanshot last night.(Catbacker98 had the news in the open game thread) and will have a new coach when they begin playing in a different conference next year. According to this article, the A&M President did not sign the contract extension so the buyout is only $5.4 million and not $9 million. Burnt Orange Nation of course is amused. The latest vacancy raises the question in my mind of are there enough coaches to fill all the D1 vacancies?
Lady Cat basketball hosts Iowa at Bramlage and the game is on Fox Sports Kansas City at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Mercury has a nice article on a player for next year, who won't be playing her senior year of high school basketball due to injury. Hope the surgery goes well for you Ms. Malone.
