Baylor proposes new riverfront, on-campus stadium
Baylor fans seem rather confident this thing will get done in the next 5 years or even sooner. They probably still won't fill it unless Texas is coming to town but that's going from worst to one of the best in the Big 12 if it looks anything like that.

So that is what new construction looks like.
Have not seen much of this since 09. I would think flooding would be a concern.

No worse than any other riverfront stadium out there I would think

Hank Hill: It's like a debate team, only instead of doing something useless you get to grade the cut and quality of meat!
Catbacker, thoughts on the canopy/overhang?
Conceptually it’s all (the entire stadium and how it opens up to the river) cool, but the proportions of that canopy/overhang are gaudy.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
Yea even with a Heisman hopeful on their roster
They probably have the 2nd worst attendance in the league behind KU. I think they pulled 44K for MU. I don’t even think KSU averaged that in Snyders last 2 years of the first go around. We were constantly pulling 46K.
Anyway if you read their article on the Baylor website it mentions there’s still some sort of questionarre to go out to its donors to help determine capacity size. Point is, I don’t imagine they’ll build it too much more than their current 50K. Seems pointless to build an entire new stadium (whether the old one’s a dump or not) if not to increase capacity dramatically. I get the appeal to moving it onto campus though. That probably does cause a bit of the disconnect that may lead to the lack of following.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
Well, if it is designed correctly, it could be easily upgraded capacity wise
As in, they are hoping that by building a new stadium, on campus, it will increase attendance. After sustained attendance, if the building was designed properly, they could quickly and relatively cheaply upgrade it.
Of course, (and not being qualified to judge this sort of thing) that design doesn’t look like it would be any easier to upgrade.
And I bet the canopy never gets built.
Would you like some Freys with that?

More renderings up on www.ourdailybears.com
They show some other master-planning features that are pretty cool from a site perspective.

I really like the "sailgating"
That sounds really awesome.

Agreed.
Sailgating…why didn’t we think of that?
Oh yeah, we don’t have a navigable river running in front of our stadium.
