I love how they're in a pod with two geographical rivals
Wichita State in game one, and then possibly the Nubs (#2 overall seed… great) in round 2. Anyway, great job girls! For another team picked to finish at the bottom of the league, I’m delighted for them, and quite excited for next year, particularly if Pelger can come back fully healthy.

This is awesome
I’ll take a second round loss to NU any day…A win would be better, but I’m a realist…kinda.

It’s awesome to see this matchup and wish we could get a home and home in basketball in the works. Great job by both groups of girls to get this far and may the best team win. Even though my money is on the Shocks.

KSU will only play bball against WSU if the TV suits want to buy it, and so far they don't.
It just doesn’t make any sense for KSU otherwise, since we have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
This is what I don't understand though
Because the way I see it, we have even more to lose and less to gain by playing UMES or Charleston Southern.
The only difference being that we don’t make the return trip to their court.
I don’t want to lose any non-con games, but given a choice, I would rather lose to WSU than UMES.

Well, that's true - it's just that we have a 99% chance of beating UMES, and the WSU game is much closer to 50/50 but the national media wouldn't give us much more credit
I wouldn’t mind seeing a WSU game myself, I’m just saying why it won’t happen.
WSU is better than folks think
outside of KS and the MO-Valley.
Maybe in a couple of years it will be a good series to get going.

WSU has to start getting some NCAA tournament invites before they get national respect
Winning the NIT is a good start, but it’s still a step down in terms of exposure.
You realize they made it to the Elite Eight
not too long ago (within the last 8 years), right?
I understand what you’re saying though…one trip in the last decade doesn’t really get continued respect. Heck, Butler and Gonzaga are just now starting to be taken seriously.

Wichita State is to Kansas as Northern Iowa is to Iowa.
