Sounds like a decent day to clean my garage...
Did I mention I have a TV in the garage?
screw this, I should be sleeping anyway.

awesome. Some day I hope to have one in my garage as well.
But we must upgrade the bedroom first.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
TT vs aTm
torn here. Would like to see aTm fall, give the red raiders one last good chance at closing out that rivalry on top. Other part of me wants TT to be reeling when the ’Cats roll into West Texas next week.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
I'm thinking exciting come-from-behind win for TTech.
Then hopefully a hangover game against K-State.

Had to be carted off, even.
Hate to see it happen to someone having a very good season.
battle of the undefeated in Lubbock next week?
that would be exciting.

What's the over/under on how many points Okie State scores today?
Does it have to be expressed using scientific notation?

After the first half,
They were on pace for 1.12 × 10^2 points.
Good enough for me.
Very windy day in Manhattan
Special teams will be a huge factor. We will have to hold Josey to under 150 yards for the win.
oh hail the Purple and White
Gameday crew picks Wildcats
Well, Kirk and Desmond did…Corso picked Mizzou.
There was a rather lengthy discussion about the game during the Boise St/Fresno St beatdown last night. We’re getting noticed, that’s for sure.

Not just a discussion of the game last night
But heaping praise on Snyder for the job he’s done, both the first time around and now.
Yes, this too.

Not that it bothers me but...
Seems crazy that K-State, a ranked team, is an underdog to a 2-2 road team…
I think it is a good thing
as far as how we play today.
We like being disrespected. It fires us up I think.

That's a very good point
I hope the team comes out with a chip on their shoulder.
Mizzou isn't an ordinary 2-2 team
They lost to #3 Oklahoma on the road in a game in which they didn’t play horribly, and they lost to a solid ASU team on the road in a nail-biter. They have a very good young QB who can beat you with his arm and legs, they’ve got an outstanding running back and a slew of good pass-catchers. Plus, they’ve beaten KSU five straight times and their defensive strength is stopping the run. I think making K-State a slight underdog isn’t such a stretch for the bookies.
What does everyone think about the RRR?
Who you got? I think Texas will pull the upset. 35-27
It would be pretty sweet if Texas pulled off the upset.
But then when we beat Texas, that could leave a 3 way tie for 1st place. If we want a Big 12 team to play for MNC, I think OU probably needs to win this game.

Easy solution to the 3-way tie: Make sure K-State goes undefeated.
Even though it probably wouldn’t be enough to get into the natl. championship.
If there there are other undefeated teams
then, no, probably not. But if it is LSU and KSU standing at the end of the season, I would think KSU would have a shot (I mean, after beating OU, Texas, Baylor, and OSU).

by Jeremy Sharp on Oct 8, 2011 10:42 AM CDT up reply actions
I expect Stanford and Wisconsin to both be undefeated.
Either LSU or Alabama may escape the SEC undefeated.
And with five undefeated teams a week into the conference slate, it seems like somebody is bound to get out of the Big 12 unscathed.
You could also see an undefeated Clemson or Georgia Tech from the ACC.
Never mind Boise State’s chances in the MWC. They just shredded Fresno State last night. Kellen Moore is scary good. But even if they go undefeated, I guarantee they won’t play for the national title.
God I love you guys
And I know you probably don’t truly believe we’ll be undefeated, but I hate even reading it. Gets my hopes up etc etc. Let’s beat a team with out it coming down to the last 5 minutes and I’ll feel better about talking about it.
The thing that sucks the most? This team would be the perfect team to win the North and have a chance at a BCS. Now we need to run the table.
GET BACK TO TWELVE!!!!

Sorry
I don’t think this is likely to happen at all.
It started with me trying to decide who I want to win in the RRR. :)

Just thought of something
So, if Mizzou DOES stay in the conference, and 2 years from now things aren’t to their liking, do you anticipate they will be like “well, we never voted for these things” as an excuse for looking around again (they have abstained from the last two votes (granting of rights and TCU).
First to identify a TEWWT (so what if it was unintentional)
No, anybody who stays now will sign over tv rights for several years.

Anyone see this ESPN article?
Kansas State has dropped five straight against Missouri, a team the Wildcats beat 13 years running in Bill Snyder’s first tenure in Manhattan. “The Legend” has the pendulum poised to swing back K-State’s way, as his charges are executing at a much higher level than last year on both sides of the ball and dominating the fourth quarter. The Wildcats still lack talent at a few positions, but this team has elite chemistry and is playing with a ferocious confidence. That’s especially true of a defense that boasts 2012 All-American Arthur Brown at the head of the nation’s most improved linebacking corps.
Collin Klein — dubbed the Honey Badger weeks before LSU’s Tyrann Mathieu — leads the nation in rushing attempts by a quarterback and is the unquestioned general of a physical, ground-oriented attack. Don’t be surprised to see Klein have a big day throwing, though, as Snyder shows more in the passing game to exploit a Missouri secondary that has been the biggest weakness on a solid but young Tigers team.
Missouri looked good in a pair of road losses to the Oklahoma Sooners and Arizona State Sun Devils, but the Tigers figure to open 2-3 for the first time since Gary Pinkel’s first year in 2001. Kansas State is an ascending program that will do at least as well as the Holiday Bowl this year and will be a major player in the Big 12 as long as one of the game’s few underrated Hall of Famers roams the sideline. The Wildcats are well aware that this meeting might be the last between the two old Big Eight rivals, and a raucous crowd at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will help deliver a convincing win.
The pick: Kansas State 31, Missouri 17
It's pretty breezey
Gonna be a tough day for either side to air it out.
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice. Let them wonder how the F*ck you did it.
which might be a good thing for us
We know how to win a game with no passing attack. I think Mizzou relies on the balance to do well.

Hmmmm.

IF the Wildcats win today...
would it be a bigger win than last week?
I think so
I think Baylor has the best QB in the nation, and one of the top WRs, but I’m not sold on the rest of their team. MU is terrifically balanced, but unlucky, to be 2-2 right now. I’d put money on MU over Baylor. A win now really does cement the Cats as a good team, not just a lucky team.

I would probably take that wager.
"An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come." *Victor Hugo*
As long as we keep winning, every win is bigger than the previous one.
Kent State was bigger than Eastern Kentucky. Miami was bigger than Kent State. Baylor was bigger than Miami. Missouri is bigger than Baylor.
That’s the thing about winning. As long as you keep doing it, every game matters more than the last.
by AMS on Oct 8, 2011 2:15 PM CDT up reply actions
that's what I was thinking reading previous comments
5-0 is bigger than 4-0. Unless maybe if we were playing KU to go 5-0.
And as we continue to pile up the wins, we'll get every team's best shot.
If we’re 7-0, do we get Gameday for OU? Seems like a very real possibility, unless they schedule these things all in advance.
Never mind. Alabama-LSU that week. Wait. No, that’s the week after. They both have a bye week that week.
I know it’s still a BIG if to get to 7-0, but if we do, I’m about 75 percent certain we’ll get Gameday ofr OU. The only game I can see as competition, looking at the schedules of a bunch of top-15 teams, is GT-Clemson.
I thought they were scheduled out for the year
But maybe that’s just the first few weeks.
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice. Let them wonder how the F*ck you did it.
first several weeks are scheduled then it is the best place
IF K-State is undefeated and/or ranked there is a good chance they will be in MHK for that game … partially due to the huge crowd the last time they were in town.
and if so, I want to try to make it up for that event and shenanigans (would need some help).

Ok so what coach is Mack Brown going to fire after today's game?

Things just went from bad to worse
for Texas
I wonder if a convincing win over Texas
would push OU back to no. 1…well in the AP poll
I doubt it
UT is getting massively exposed right now. I thought their ranking was a little off, and I think this proves it.

A little bit?
FSU is stinking it up too.

yea I thought about #17-19 was more accurate for UTprior to going into today's game
but you know that big jump last week was due in part for a love fest to put #1 vs #11 on their ads and such on the ESPN side of things, and nothing else. It was fake and generated
"Nor yet in Dell?"
So why not rank us for Baylor?

How important to OU is Bob Stoops?
If he wasn’t hired in 1999, or if he had sucked, wouldn’t OU likely be just another team, and not a possible expansion target? It’s amazing what one coach (like Snyder here!) can do for a school.

100 percent true
Stoops IS OU football. I wouldn’t want to think of a reality where K-State had never hired Bill…
Wichita State?

Quite a possibility
A few more losing seasons in ’89, ’90, and ’91 and I bet K-State would have had serious talks about dropping the program. That is a little extreme, but you never know.
It all goes back to Hayden Fry.

They did.
From what I hear, it was saved by the skin of its teeth.

I think they might have been looking at D-2.
And not necessarily dropping the program altogether.
