BOTC Podcast with David Ubben

Join us for a new version of the BOTC podcast, where ESPN's Big 12 blogger David Ubben joins TB and Ahearn Alley to talk about this weekend's Missouri game, a little Bryce Brown, where David will be this weekend -- hint, it will be the second-biggest Big 12 game of the weekend -- where K-State could go this season with a win on Saturday, and John Hubert's ceiling as a running back.

Also, don't miss the middle of the podcast, when Ahearn channels his God Complex and asks questions in the voice of the Almighty.

Is there any way to put the podcast link after the jump, so it doesn't autoplay every time BOTC loads?

It doesn't autoplay for me.

Is it some setting you have?

Would you like some Freys with that?

Nevermind

I was missing a plug-in, apparently.

and now you wish you didn't have said plug-in, huh?

I don't understand.

Why would you not want it to autoplay? I know it’s not the P.O.D.

Great job, guys.

And thanks, Ubben, for spending the time.

I know I’m pulling a KSB/Klein here with Hubert, but I don’t think this is his ceiling. He’s surprised a bit the last two games (Miami with his long runs and Baylor with his catching ability). I think he will only get better, particularly if Pease is used in a way that keeps the defenses off-balance.

I hope you're right.

I hope so, too ...

And I hope that Pease gains enough trust to handle 50% of the load at some point.

I think it might be more about being a bit dinged up right now, than it is about trust.

From the fact that he missed the Miami trip,

and then the reports that he was dinged a bit after his last carry against Baylor, I think that once he gets fully healthy, his carries will go up.

Hubert has been on the team a full season longer than Pease too

Think that has any bearing on this?

Knowledge of the playbook might well be a factor.

I like the point Ubben makes about our improved D line.

Last year they were horrible, but they’ve been an asset this year.

by AMS on Oct 6, 2011 11:56 AM CDT reply actions

They are what is making it possible for Walker and Brown to be awesome.

The DTs keep the heat off Walker and Brown … Walker and Brown fly to the ball. And they’re really good at flying to the ball.

by Itchy n Scratchy on Oct 6, 2011 12:06 PM CDT up reply actions

I think I all season have largely underappreciated their performance

mainly due to the fact that when at the games I watch the ball and can’t focus on the 4 of them at one time all the time. I think only on TV can I really appreciate what they do.

It won't even play for me, WTH
