College Football Week Nine Open Thread
You know the drill by now. This is your thread to discuss all the other Big 12 and national action today before the K-State game thread posts one hour before kickoff.
I always link you up to SB Nation's College Football Buffet to give you a guide to the best national action, but this week is a little different. This week, Manhattan is the center of the college football universe. Immediately to our north, Nebraska has a big game against the Michigan State team that ended Wisconsin's unbeaten season last week. While we're playing, Oklahoma State will put its undefeated record on the line against Robert Griffin III and Baylor. The Rootability Index leans for Oklahoma, but what does Spencer know?
Baylor vs. Oklahoma State, Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, Okla., 2:30 p.m. (ABC)
KU vs. Texas, Darrel K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, Texas, 6:00 p.m. (TLN)
Iowa State vs. Texas Tech, Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, Texas, 6:00 p.m. (FSN)

That's what happens when you start at 6 a.m. local time.
Especially when the school your visiting is already eliminated from bowl contention.
I think everyone from Aggieville would be done eating breakfast Bob's about that time.

Good grease to sop up some booze though

But was it at 2:15 AM?

I keep getting this feeling that even if (when?) we win this,
the narrative will simply switch to how overrated OU must have been.

Plenty of talk of the offenses.
Yet no mention of KSU having the top one or two defense in the conference. Always a good in-depth analysis there WWLIS. Kudos for making it through the telecast without referring to us as the Jayhawks.

Yeah I don't know why people keep saying OU will win because they are mad
I don’t the correlation between being mad and playing better.
There is none
Why would Oklahoma try any harder today at #9 in the BCS than they would have if they hadn’t lost last Saturday night and come in at #3? True, you can push the desperation angle, but without a playoff system college football operates on a desperation level for every team week-to-week.

In fact, it usually has a negative impact.
Particularly if you get out-schemed and use that anger against an out of control defense.

I don’t get it either.
Oh ESPN, you're such a tease...
“we wanted to come to gameday… but OU lost”
“Bill Snyder sure is a good coach”
VS.
“the story end today”
“OU wins by 2 touchdowns and a field goal”
Good to see Stonestreet...
pimping his K-State gear! Meanwhile, I have a Nebraska flag flying out my basement window. Guess i’m getting a taller flag pole and fly my State flag. Size matters!

If both teams can't lose, i guess i hate the aggies worse
Or rather, they still only have a single loss in the league, and i want to see them bumped out of contention for winning the b12. A win by MU still probably won’t get them into a bowl game.
For reasons completely other than Cat-related, I am a very angry sports fan right now.
I’m debating whether to just stay away from interwebbery today, as I won’t be very good company, most likely. If I do, though, I’ll nominate someone to take my place as the official Rally Scarlett poster.

I'm not seeing the talent differential
Just looked at the four and five star recruits for each team over the past six years:
K-State— 11 four and 2 five
OU—13 four and 3 five
Should be an even game.
(Huh? Oh, really? Oh, that’s different…)
Sorry. The K-State total is 2006-2011. OU is for 2010 alone.
