Because I have one. Of course, 3,892 of those words ARE profanities.

Pretty disappointing...

Perhaps we still have hope with the TAM game? Hopefully it’ll piss off HBCK and Mr. Brown takes someones head off.

Obviously, they wanted to come to our city so they could fellate Oklahoma.

Since Oklahoma accidentally dropped their Viagra in a storm drain, that won’t work now. So we lose out on the chance to have Gameday because the team they were really interested in derped it up? The temptation to tell them to go screw themselves next time they call runs a little high at the moment.

Preach on, Jon

You pretty much sum up all my feelings on this matter, brother. ESPN is in bed with the devil. Sometimes I have to wonder (thinking: TLN and douchebag Craig James) if it is the devil.

And you know they're going to have 53 people show up

and they’ll cheer at the wrong times
and half of them will be UCLA fans who got confused
and the rest will be obnoxious USC bros
because nobody from Stanford will show up anyway
but maybe a handful of D-list celebs will be on hand
someone will make a comment about how they’re going to roll that Trojan horse right on into Stanford’s locker room
because they’re so fucking stupid they don’t realize they have it backward
and then they’ll talk about “the Cardinals”
I hate life.

Take care of business against what will be a very angry Oklahoma team,

and I imagine College Gameday will cover KSU-OSU the week after. Wouldn’t be in Manhattan, though.

God damn it, Oklahoma.

No, they won't.

Great point.

Shame on me for not having memorized the weekly schedule of the greatest conference in the history of any sport ever.

Well then, maybe 9-0 KSU vs 7-2 aTm? Stanford-Oregon that weekend.

Surely they won't do two Stanford games in one season?

Well they seemingly were prepared to do three Oklahoma games...

And it would be on Stanford campus instead of USC.

And Andrew Luck. People want to see him in action.

Posted this in the celebration thread but it is more appropriate here so I'm reposting.

I think the Angriest Fans in America just got a little angrier.

Seriously, my initial disappointment for losing Gameday due to the ineptness of our friends from down south has rather quickly turned to rage. All of a sudden I really like our chances this weekend.

And this by no means should be misinterpreted as I didn’t want Gameday, but I had legitimate concerns about how the weekend festivities were going to play out. The logistics of having Gameday on campus or in Aggieville with 1000’s (or tens of thousands) of people ending at 11:00 with a 2:30 kickoff were not ideal, especially with our tailgating tradition. 1000’s of people/vehicles moving from the middle of campus to BSFS all at the same time would have been a certifiable cluster****. Obviously, I would have rather had the show than not, but now we don’t have to worry about all that stuff and can focus on getting to the stadium early, lubing up properly, and prepping ourselves for the HUGE game that this will be.

No silly distractions like the premier college football television program in the country on the nation’s #1 sports network broadcasting from our very campus…. aw shit, who am I kidding, of course I wanted The Show That Shall No Longer Be Named. And now the anger is building again.

LET’S RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two things on this

I think if the cross section of our fanbase realizes what OU’s loss cost us, there should be similar/plenty/comparable emotion in the stands as if Gameday would have come.

Secondly, I think you might see a small drop off in amount of OU fans that would have come to the game. In fact because their game went so late last night, I bet some people are still on their way home from their game.

"Nor yet in Dell?"

by GTcat on Oct 23, 2011 1:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Yes, I am disappointed that Gameday will not be coming to town

But I wonder if they would have really come anyway. Remember, the Stanford game was already in the late time slot. I am suspicious if we really would have gotten it anyway. I know what DUbbs said, but that is not a guarantee. The OU loss just gave them a good reason to not come (instead of some lame as reason they would have had to come up with).

I also like the fact that this will be one less distraction for our guys to deal with.

And when we beat OU, and the Stanford/USC game is a dud, they will WISH they had come to Manhattan.

This is the worst part of it.

Gameday prides itself on rotating locations and trying to visit lots of places and all that good shit.

The last time Gameday was in LA? October 30, 2010, for Oregon at USC.

I would be very worried if I was from OU about now...

BSFS is going to be a ball of fiery rage when the BUMMER Sooners roll into town… I know for a fact the student section will not let up for one second on the players, and I am very questionable of Landry Jones’s ability to play in an environment that isn’t in his favor. The Bill will be louder than I think it has ever been come this Saturday and I have a feeling team is bringing hell with it when they come onto the field that day.

do you know how many homecoming games, K-State has lost over the years?

We don’t like losing games, regardless of when it is.

Homecoming is just a ‘theme’ that gives organizations an opportunity to do activities. What makes next weekend more welcoming to alumni than other weekends?

I guess I don't know from an alumni point of view, seeing as I'm still in college

So I was speaking more on a student basis, but i guess I shouldn’t really talk on a student basis either since I’ve never been here for a homecoming yet either

by tonyg8803 on Oct 23, 2011 5:32 PM CDT up reply actions

if you do not live in the dorms or in the greek system

or are active in one of the orgs (blue key?) that handle homecoming, there really isn’t much of interest to you.

The years I lived in the dorm, activity mainly took place by the hall staff and hall government, the average resident was ‘whatever.’ The greeks are much more active, since it is a competition amongst them.

But none of the activities are really designed to get more alumni to return to K-State and most of the alumni that are in town next Sat would be there for the football game anyway.

That is kinda what I've heard from some of my friends here

Which is weird to me because before I transferred here, homecoming was always a big deal for wherever I went to school. Then again, the first college I was at was still pretty much a high school.
