RPI WATCH: 1/31/2011
Three out of four ain't bad, especially when the one loss really didn't set us back at all.
Sunday's action saw Emporia State distance itself from .500 with a must-win home game against conference foe Truman State, Virginia Tech secure an equally needed home win over Miami and Washington State register its first true signature win of the season against hated instate rival Washington.
The only blemish of the day was the absolute egg Duke laid at Madison Square Garden, but the Blue Devil's RPI, overall record and command of their conference are such that the loss hardly will register in our computer profile.

On the bright side,
we have beaten three teams that are almost certainly going to be bubble teams on Selection Sunday in Baylor, WSU, and Gonzaga.
Of course it won’t matter if the team goes 6-10 in conference, but I’m trying to stay optimistic that if this team can just stay the course and find a way to get to 8-8 or 9-7 there’s a real shot at making the tourney. And once in, anything goes.
I dont know if anyone will see this BUT
remember a few days ago we were freaking out about shots not falling?? Thats happening to aTm right now. At Halftime they are shooting 24.1%. 7-29. Oh yeah. They are getting beat down like we did!!
I nominate you for "BOTC Optimist of the Year."

I nominate myself for "BOTC Fool of the Year".
I want to stay optimistic, but between Cosh still DC, Sean Snyder on a trajectory to HC, these basketball results, and Wally leaving, it’s getting pretty hard! 2011 has not been good to KState fans thus far.
I'm with ya, brother.

At this point...
…with the way everyone has had trouble making shots against Texas, I’m confident in saying that it’s UT’s defense that’s causing the shots not to fall. They can guard.
We'll carry the banner high!
Bring On The Cats
With that said, though, aTm IS averaging only 48.5 points over their last two games.
Sure, Nub and UT have good defenses, but even our sad-sack offense hasn’t been THAT bad twice in a row.
