RPI WATCH: 1/27/2011

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, I'm sure, but Wednesday night was yet another mixed bag for K-State's NCAA Tournament resume.

Positives included James Madison snapping its three-game losing streak with a win over Bruiser Flint's (coolest name ever!) Drexel team that earlier won at Louisville; Texas deflating Oklahoma State on an emotional night, which was good for K-State because 1) nobody wants KU to win the conference and 2) OSU is competing with us for a tourney berth; and Texas Tech logging a surprising road win, making our win against the Red Raiders look a shade better.

Negatives were Emporia State's road loss and North Florida's one-point home loss in overtime to the same Jacksonville team that knocked off Florida earlier this year.
