K-State Places 14 Players on NFL Rosters
Kansas State placed 14 former players on NFL rosters when teams were mandated to trim their rosters to 53 active players Saturday.
Of the 14 players, eight are on offense and six are on defense.
The longest-tenured former Wildcats include running back Rock Cartwright (ninth season), safety Jon McGraw (ninth season) and cornerback Terence Newman (eighth season).
Two players from the 2009 Wildcats captured spots on active rosters — sixth-round draft pick Joshua Moore remained on the Chicago Bears’ active roster, while wide receiver Brandon Banks made the 53-man roster for the Washington Redskins as an undrafted rookie free agent.

You whippersnappers.
I determined that I was an old fart the day Mitch Richmond retired.
I am now channeling Will McDonald's optimism.
You are all pups!
I’m a 1976 K-State graduate. I was a “townie,” – I grew up in Manhattan, (and that was fun in the late 60s and early 70s – 18 yr old drinking age in Aggieville!!) I was a paperboy and delivered papers at the Athletic dorm to Lynn Dickey (our best QB, ever).
I was 9 years old and on the third row inside Ahearn Fieldhouse (Nirvana) in 1963 when the Wildcats lost by 3 pts to UCLA’s first championship (BB) team. (trivia, we also went to the Final Four in 1964 and lost to UCLA in the semifinal in Kansas City)
I was going to football games in the old Memorial Stadium in the mid-60s when we really sucked at football. I was in KSU Stadium when #2 ranked Penn State beat us in 1969 (17-14) and several weeks later when we put a beat down on the Sooners, 59-21, which was my second favorite K-State win, after the 1998 win against the Huskers. I’ve seen a lot – Just joined today – love the Site! Go Cats!

Welcome Grandpa!
Newman left my sophomore year just like BC. Good to have some age and experience here too.

Heheh
18 yr old drinking age in Aggieville
It was still 18 when I was there… at least initially. And, of course, they grandfathered everyone who was already 18 in when the increase went into effect. Which I would imagine sort of hurt the local bars, as for three years they in effect didn’t get any new customers to replace the graduating seniors… but I digress.
I am now channeling Will McDonald's optimism.

I think the most telling part...
…of that post is the fact that you were delivering newspapers to the dorm. I don’t imagine there are very many dorm-dwellers who subscribe to newspapers anymore.

we seem to be getting some Redskins ticket ads in the ad bar…maybe it’s just me.

On the third year he rose again.
Wait, where's Lilja?
I thought he was playing for the Colts. Did he not make a roster this year? That’s disappointing.
