This was a good win over a similarly talented opponent. But either Coffman needs to start playing with a little confidence and authority, or we’ve got to find another solution, because come B12 play, that just ain’t gonna cut it.

Coffman's Team Mates
seem to have confidence in him and his leadership. They rallied around him after the ball game, at least in the comments of many of them. If they are comfortable and feel he has progressed in that area, then we’ll probably be okay. If not and they have trepidation about his abilities and leadership, then we’ll need to move on.
Either TB or BracketCat had a comment the other day about Brian Kavenaugh’s abilities. That was a good comparison, except that Kavenaugh did have strong leadership skills and was confident in what he could do and what he couldn’t or shouldn’t try to do. With Coffman, you can tell if he is at that point or not.
A win is a win. Let’s take it and let the coaching staff work the problems with Coffman and the other quarterbacks.
That said, I have some questions about the defense. Yes, they did not break, but they gave up some rushing yardage in big chunks at times. Overall, it was a good effort, though.
Congrat’s Cats. Let’s keep it going. Let’s be 4-0 when “The Hucksters” come to town.
Speaking of the "hucksters"
Did anyone else notice that they gave up 159 yards to that WKU running back…seems they’re hurting without suh even they did only allow 10 points.

Losing your two best returning linebackers
to injury just days before the season even starts will throw any defense through a loop. But hey, at least they did better than Oklahoma. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about containing Daniel Thomas if Nebraska’s LB play doesn’t improve— but on the flipside, you have to imagine the K-State coaching staff is sweating Taylor Martinez just as much.
Hmm intresting tidbit...
I didn’t know still I’m going make fun of my meats judging coach for it though

I still say 6-6
with a bowl win to get 7-6 (I always like our chances in a bowl game with Snyder at the helm).

I was relieved
to see a punting and kicking game that seems back on par with FBS competition. Thompson seemed more than capable of returning duties. Powell reminded me of Sproles on some of his runs – nothing will ever precisely mirror the things I saw Sproles do in that stadium. And our defense may have bent with minimum breaking, but what I didn’t see were missed tackles littering the field with fallen Wildcat defenders as the opponent racked up tons of points *cough Ron Prince defenses cough. If the team stays true to the Snyder mantra and simply improves each day, practice, and game – this team will do just fine.
I’m ready for some more football already – and it’s six days away…

forgot to mention
DT – probably because he was what we though he was… Doak Walker candidate material.

This is a great article...

I'll have what you're smoking!
I liked a lot of what I saw
The QB play definitely has me concerned, but if one of the three can get it together I’m still comfortable saying this will be an 8 win season….which I would be absolutely fine with. I like the DT/ Powell combo. They have completely different running styles and I think it screws with the defense’s plan of attack. This was a great way to start off the year and gives us a bit to be excited about.

Looked good.
KSU looked good and Bill Snyder will have the team ready every week. I still think a top 3 showing in the Big 12 north is very doable. Might even get to the title game.
You catch Nebraska early on and they are struggling with depth at linebacker (two big injuries) and their D-Line was atrocious against Western Kentucky. They were getting pushed down field 5 yards at a time during the second half. That sets up a potential perfect storm for your power running game.
KSU should play solid this year and 7-8 wins is very doable.
