I could swear

That I read this quoted somewhere as “nasty eggs.”

Possibly a promising quote from Coach:

’"I’m not a fan of bend, but don’t break," Snyder said. “I’ve been involved in it too much. I’m too old for that. We need to be able to put the brakes on at the other end of the field a little more frequently.”’ He sounds just like PJ and BC here!

But can the D do anything else?

After a day to reflect, I'm surprisingly relaxed about K-State's prospects from here on out.

The team proved that it is possible (at least technically) for them to win even when somebody bottles up Daniel Thomas.

Carson Coffman still isn’t anywhere near the most athletic or technically proficient QB out there, but he’s got as much heart and guts and will and never-say-die attitude as you could want. And even if we could probably do better, we could definitely do a whole lot worse.

At this point K-State has probably played one of the toughest schedules in the Big 12 and while they haven’t really racked up any style points, they’ve taken care of business. They know how to come out and play a full 60 minutes.

And on that note, interesting discussion question (that I’m ripping off from a Rock M Nation comment): Would you rather have KSU’s 4-0 record or Missouri’s 4-0 record?

What he said

I fully expect to break even in our last 8 games — or better.

I'll take KSU's 4-0

because I’m a Wildcat. And all that good stuff mystman posted.

One solace

Is UCF was by no means a weak opponent. They should of beaten a NC-State squad that rolled Georgia Tech in Atlanta. I have always felt playing decent teams in non-Conference gives the players a good idea of schemes to come in conference play.

We just need Carson to manage the game, make those 5-10 yard passes, keep the secondard honest, throw a deep one every so often, and there is no reason why we cannot be competitive against Nebraska.

I kinda like our chances against NU. First, because Nebraska hasn’t shown any ability to stop the run. But second because I think our games have prepared us to face the Huskers better than their games have prepared them for us.

Here's hoping...

They certainly haven’t played an opponent with a winning record yet.

by BracketCat on Sep 27, 2010 12:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Of course we haven't either. ;-)

UCLA, UCF and ISU are all 2-2. Although UCF was 2-1 before our game.

Interesting note on UCLA’s 2-2: Their opponents are a combined 14-2, with their only losses coming to UCLA.

I hate to be the grammar police

But is a secondard like a retarded secondary? :-P

You mean one like

Oklahoma’s?

I agree

UCF gave us a taste of how to contain a mobile quarterback who has help in the running game: just like Nebraska’s Martinez.

Nebraska’s secondary has been deadly, but they haven’t been tested too hard on the ground, and Washington was able to do some damage in the running game before having to abandon it to come from behind.

Plus, we’ve shown Coffman can make the key plays needed to put us over the top. We also played them close last year (@Nebraska) and I don’t see them being considerably better.

Of course that doesn’t mean we’ll win, but at home?

I like our chances.

That's pretty much my assesment.

That game has a very good chance of being a dogfight, and we can win those and we know it. Nebraska might be able to win that way, but they haven’t even been in one yet.

I would have to think things are exponentially better without Suh.

He was perhaps one of the best college defensive players of the last 10 years.

If I didn't live in Kansas

I’d swear those pictures from Saturday are photoshopped. Not sure if other regions get stuff like that rolling through but I know I’ve seen it too much over the last year.

Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

Along with 50,000 other people

well all attest that those pics are not photoshopped to anyone that would ask. i saw it with my own eyes, and they were some of the weirdest clouds i have ever seen in my life. i thought a tornado was going to drop right over the stadium. it was a weird day for a football game in Manhattan.

Go 'Cats!!!

I have seen shelf clouds before, but not up that close with nowhere to hide.

It was really spooky seeing the clouds in front get sucked up into the blue glow above the shelf…not to mention the various cloud eddy’s all over the place. I was just waiting for a tornado to drop.

Now that I’ve looked up all I want to know about shelf clouds, I’ll know that they are not as dangerous as I thought; though they can spawn “gustnados” with wind speeds equivalent to an F0 or F1 tornado…and knowing is half the battle.
