Oh Joy...There Goes Oregon
Here come the comments on our soft schedule once again. I really would be surprised if we don't replace them with a FCS opponent. As a fan I was so looking forward to seeing more solid match-ups. I'm sure this is only the first to be dropped...so stay tuned.

Oregon and Miami would have been rough.
Plus with the new round robin scheduling….our conference slate will be tough enough.
Hey Bill and John
I will not ever venture up to Manhattan for inferior competition. Not all die-hard K-State alums live in the area and can’t make it up to many games. I have to pick and choose the games I come up for. Oregon, Miami, etc. are games worth coming up for. Middle Bumblef*** State and Directional Missouri are not.

I was thinking that an Oregon/K-State match-up would be televised.
Now I suppose we will play Western Kentucky/UAB/Troy or some other BCS opponent that no network will want to televise. And of course Autzen is supposed to be one of the premiere environments to play college football in the country. So we lost that experience. I just clamor to see quality opponents anymore and not look like we are scared all the time. BTW now that KSU Athletics has changed their website you can no longer review old/future football schedules online. I hope this gets added back shortly otherwise who knows what will happen in the future.
I don't think
one tv appearance will come close to paying the same as a bowl bid. Seriously though guys, every team schedules easy wins. It’s a must in college football. For example, UT is playing Rice, Wyoming, and Florida Atlantic this year. OSU is playing Washington St, Troy, Tulsa, and Louisiana Lafayette. Turns out Nub’s is a little tougher though with the likes of Western Kentucky, Idaho, and South Dakota St.
Too bad we didn’t play a bunch of top ten teams in non-con back in 98….we probably would have won the national title. Or not.
Yes, every team does schedule cupcakes, but Bill chickening out is pathetic
I don’t care if KSU loses to Oregon, I just want them to PLAY Oregon!

He's not
chickening out man, he’s being smart. Also, it was a mutual decision, so obviously Chip Kelly is chickening out and pathetic as well. There’s a reason why Bill Snyder is a HOF coach, and Ron Prince is a dumbass, and some of it has to do with scheduling.
Looking at the Oregon website I think it has to do with opening dates for conference games
With both conferences still needing to set the conference schedule, I understand that, but that doesn’t mean I like it. However, of the two, Miami makes a whole lot more sense to play because KSU likes (and has been able to) get recruits from there. I don’t know if anyone has ever come from Oregon to play.
You also can’t claim Kelly is a chicken since he’s still playing good non-con games in the future (Utah was going to be a non-conference game until they were added).

Snyder being Snyder
So far from surprising…that it’s kind of surprising.
