Dylan Meier, Former K-State QB, Dies in Hiking Accident

Dylan Meier, a quarterback at K-State from 2002 through 2006, died in a hiking accident in Arkansas, apparently on Monday.  Most of you are aware that Dylan's brother, Shad, was a star with K-State between 1997 and 2000, and that his brother, Kerry, recently completed his eligibility at KU, and will be selected in the NFL Draft this week.

I wish I had the ability to say something to put this situation into perspective, but I don't.  If you are interested in reading a little more about what happened, here is a link from GoPowercat.  At this point, I don't really think the details are important.  A 26-year-old young man -- my exact age -- died in a horrible accident.  Although I "met" Dylan at Pat's one night when he ran into a friend of mine that he knew, I didn't know him.  He seemed like a very nice guy that night, and I never ran across anyone who had anything but great things to say about him.

Thoughts, prayers, best wishes and condolences to the Meier family.
