RPI WATCH: 3/7/2010

Boston U. and IUPUI survived and advanced in their respective conference tournaments Saturday, while Ole Miss and UNLV netted important conference wins to keep their at-large hopes alive.

Alabama climbed back into the Top 100 of the RPI with a home win over Auburn. With the win, it positioned itself for a potential NIT bid.

By defeating St. Bonaventure, Xavier claimed a share of the A-10 championship and a No. 2 seed in the A-10 Tournament, and ensured that it will remain in the rankings for another week.

Dayton was swept by Saint Louis to finish 8-8 in the same conference, which is was predicted to win before the season. The Flyers' descent toward pure underachievement now is complete.

And Washington State was swept by Oregon, a team likely to fire its coach soon, and finished at .333 in the woeful Pac-10. Netting a win in Pullman won't be a very daunting proposition next year.
