Amen

I’m delighted. But why didn’t Scott Drew get the other 5 votes? KU did exactly what they were supposed to do. I don’t think Baylor was expected to do a thing.

Even if you're predicted to do good things before the season...

…there’s still a certain amount of recognition that should go along with such high achievements. Going 15-1 in this league is a tremendous accomplishment.

Maybe I would feel different in UT had gone 15-1

Not “them”, but I believe it should go to whoever smokes expectations. Like Martin taking the Cats to 2nd place, or Baylor at 3rd.

I understand where you’re coming from though, and I guess the writers all agreed with you!

From my perspective

Congrats to Mr. Martin on this award. He did truly deserve it.

To echo what I posted on Rock Chalk Talk

Absolutely agree with Martin being COY. I think the only way Self would have won the award was if KU had gone 16-0 in conference. I think if you’re team is projected to win the league and you do so, then it takes something extraordinary, such as going undefeated in the #1 RPI conference, to be COY.

Congrats to Coach Martin. His players may not call him Coach but I do.

Whether he deserves it or not, I think it might be a cold day in hell before the other coaches (at least the majority of them) vote Drew as COY – assuming all those rumblings about Drew’s negative recruiting are true.

Definitely agree on Scott Drew

Don’t know if the perception is right or wrong, but it’s clear that he is not respected by other coaches or fans. From living down there, I know there are plenty of people in Texas who have nothing good to say about him.

It probably doesn't hurt

That Frank does stuff like give McDermott props after the biggest win of his 4-year stint at Iowa State, or always props Pat Knight up even though he’s only won 7 Big 12 games in two years, or often hails Bill Self’s program as the model for everyone else to follow.

Quid pro quo.

Or constantly talks about how the Big 12...

…is the best league in the country, almost to the point of sounding like a broken record.
