Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

RPI WATCH: 3/6/2010

Wow, sucks to be Fort Hays State. The Tigers definitely are not playing their best ball at the end of the season.

Case in point: Five days ago, they creamed Emporia State at home 94-47. So what did they do as the No. 2 seed in the first round of the MIAA Tournament?

Lose to the seventh-seeded Hornets, of course.

That's par for the course in that tourney, in which No. 1 seed Central Missouri already lost by 19 to No. 8 seed Washburn — marking the third straight year the No. 8 has beat the No. 1. Craziness in Municipal Auditorium!

Both teams probably lost out on hosting in the NCAA Division II Tournament as a result of the upsets.

In other conference tournament news, Cleveland State already was knocked out of the Horizon League Tournament on Friday night. Several other K-State non-conference opponents likely will follow soon.

We’ll be a 2. Which is fine — I don’t think we were ever good enough to be a 1, really. But it was a nice dream for a while.
