Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been thinking about today's championship game, and I can't help but draw parallels between today and December 6, 2003. On that night, I was in Kansas City, Mo., to watch K-State play for a conference title against what many considered an unstoppable juggernaut. To quote my friend's sign from that evening: "I believe!"
See you at Sprint Center tonight.
Go Cats!

I'm excited for this one too..
but I disagree a little in comparing the two. A K-State win today wouldn’t be remotely as big as the ’03 football victory. I suppose I could be wrong, but I would never consider the Big 12 Tournament championship the same as the Football conference title.
53 Conference Championships!! and now 6 IN A ROW!!! Holy Hell...Good Luck with That!!
I was thinking the same thing last night.
Denis even gives me the same vibes Roberson did. Talent, attitude, and always a little risk.
i hope we do win tonight
on the basketball side of it, i think that everybody but the ku players are cocky right now. ku’s players know what they are going into tonight, a battle. all the ku fans, are thinking, or at least saying, that ksu doesnt stand a chance, because weve already lost twice this season, but id be scared to play ksu tonight, they seem like they are playing in mid-season form again and ready to win this title, and by God, i hope we do win this title tonight, i would be sooo happy for the longest time.
on the football side of it, i really hope Snyder gets us back to this state of football. ive missed it and i know all kstate fans have.
Go State!!! Beat KU!!!
Go 'Cats!!!
really?
do you guys make this stuff up? All year I’ve talked to and chatted with a large amount of the Kansas fan base that has a tremendous amount of respect for Kansas State. I personally have been extremely complimentary of Martin and the Wildcats multiple times.
Going into tonights game, I myself and I know many on our board are far from “cocky” or even confident. Beating a team of the caliber that K-State is three times in one season is VERY difficult.
Pullen and Clemente are playing very well right now and our own team has come out sleepwalking at the start of both games so far. If they do that again, I think K-State could beat us pretty bad.
I’m sorry you have to deal with an apparent “cocky” Kansas fan group, but I can assure you that the one’s you are talking to either don’t have a clue about basketball or are just talking shit to get under your skin, both fanbases have them.
Good luck tonight, it’s going to be a good one.

well thanks denverjhawk
im def not talking about you, because i have seen on this site all season long, and you provide the ku side of it, but dont really talk to bad about us. its good to know that not all ku fans are cocky, just the ones in wichita, and are huge ku fans, even thought most didnt go to ku for school. I hope that ku does not play like they did during the last two games, especially the @ku game. it should be a really good game, and i hope ku doesnt beat us 3 times in one season, cause i should would love a win tonight.
thanks again, deverjhawk for being a nice ku fan.
Go 'Cats!!!
lookin forward to it...
it’s definitely a great day for basketball in Kansas.

Totally agree Denver
TB, this would be monumental win…but OU was “the best team of all time” and we were nobody that year. To say we’re a huge underdog in this game doesn’t give credit to our Cats. Granted, we don’t seem to get the same respect as KU seems to when it comes to Sportscenter highlights and the like, but we are really good…and most people know it.
Yeah, I think the 2003 comparison is pretty appropriate...
…for that reason. We were considered a national title contender in the preseason that year, and the only reason nobody gave us a shot against OU was that Roberson got hurt and we lost three games early. Obviously that’s a little different than basketball this year, but I think most outside observers gave us very little chance last night against KU.
Now, all credit to KU, as they came out and took care of business. After three games that almost perfectly illustrated what you’d expect out of the transitive property, it’s time to just admit that KU is pretty damn good.
We'll carry the banner high!
Bring On The Cats
Looking at possible number one seeds
Talk about having a much easier path than the ’Cats. Dook played last place Miami, while Ohio state plays bubble team Illiniois. K-State had to beat 2 solid tournaments teams and plays the number one team in the country tonight. Yes, the Iowa State loss was bad; however how do you reward Ohio State or Duke with a number one seed when both teams play in lesser conferences and had a much easier road in their conference tournaments. If West Virginia got the last number one seed they would be more deserving that Ohio State or Duke IMO.
