SB Nation Bracketology: K-State a 3
Chris is doing a tremendous job with SB Nation's bracketology. His latest projection has K-State as a three-seed in the Oklahoma City pod, matching up with Pacific. A possible second-round rematch with UNLV would await, as the Runnin' Rebels would match up with Illinois.
Here's guessing Texas will be quickly sliding off that three line.

I don't see you guys getting lower than a 3 come season's end
And if other top 10 teams keep losing games, KSU could easily move up to a two if they take care of business the rest of the way with a ton of winnable games.
Sorry I had to comment, I’m about to post my own mock bracket end-of-the-year prediction now that conference play is officially half over. Give everyone an opportunity to make fun of how wrong I was when March comes…
I would love for a 2 seed
but if we get the 3 seed – Damn it better be in Oklahoma City. There’s no way I’m missing that one.
Surgeon General's Warning: K-State-Mizzou basketball may increase the risk of high blood pressure. Please consult your doctor prior to watching any of these games.
Classes schmasses
Work schmurk. I need a vacation in March anyway.

Classes at K-State?
I’m pretty sure the Thurs/Sat set is at the end of spring break, not going to interfere with my classes, that’s for sure!

The fiance and I will be there too
I’ve got family down in Oklahoma that we’d be visiting as well. OKC would be a great location!

2 vs. 3 is a wash
15 over 2 almost never happens. 14 over 3 happens very infrequently, but slightly more often.
Either way, it’s a much softer entry than a 4 vs. a 13.
A 2 gets the 7-10 winner in the 2nd round. A 3 gets the 6-11 winner. In both cases, that’s pretty much an upper-level mid-major or a fringe Top 25 BCS team. Again, a very winnable game for most Top-12 seeds.
The big advantage comes in the Sweet 16. Instead of ending a week-long layoff by facing a No. 1 seed — pretty much a guaranteed loss — you get a 2 or a 3, or even better, a Cinderella. And if you make it past that, you’re playing a 1 for the right to go to the Final Four, which is a whole different ball of wax.
All of this is a long-winded way of saying I will be happy with a 2 or a 3. We just need to stay in that range, because we are a legitimate Top-10 team and a 4 would be a disappointment at this point in time.
The bracket people can be idiots though with seeding
In the 2004-2005 season KU lost 4 games total, went 13-3 in conference play won the league etc, had big wins over top 10 OSU, top 15 Texas, etc etc etc. I know sounds pretty similar to our national title team who got a one seed with 3 overall losses.
We got a 3 seed. Yes the three seed that lead to the Bucknell loss ::vomits in mouth:: Unfortunately the committee sometimes looks for stupid crap like a huge win, especially late in the year, rather than the whole body of work over a season. That being said though, you guys beat us in Lawrence at the end of the year then I’d put money on a two seed.
