Around SBN: Roy Nelson Willing to Pay for His Next Opponent's Drug Test

Junior guard Jacob Pullen was named one of 30 mid-season candidates for the Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T on Thursday in an announcement by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

The top 30 mid-season list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors, comprised of leading basketball journalists from around the country.

The board based its criteria on player performances this year.

Pullen was one of five players from the Big 12 to make the list, including Kansas' Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins, Oklahoma State's James Anderson, and Texas' Damion James.

Those five players

Pretty much are shoo-ins to be first-team All-Big 12, too.

As much as I love Denis, Jake’s been more consistent throughout the season and probably deserves it a notch more.

But Denis will be second-team for sure. Lots of good players will be left off the first team this year, not the least of whom are Clemente, Udoh, Brackins, Burks and Marcus Morris.

Pullen > Clemente

Agreed. Jake’s been solid all year. Denis has shown more and more as the season has progressed, but JP would definitely get my vote.

It must be impossible

for Pullen and Clemente to be “on” on the same night. If it’s not one, it’s the other. Which i guess is a good thing. If they both are hot…wow, look out.

I hope Syracuse, UK or especially KU finds out

Bring on the guards combining for 60 points in a blow out of one of the big boys.

Yeah

Samuels and Kelly had good games as well. Good all around team effort. Would like to see more of that!
