RPI WATCH: 11/30/2010
Monday night was pretty quiet. Besides our ho-hummish win over Emporia State, Baylor doubled up the score on poor Prairie View A&M (killer schedule so far, Scott Drew) and Wichita State gave UMKC its first loss of the season in Koch Arena.
By the way, how good is Wichita State? The Shockers nearly beat a Connecticut team that won the Maui Invitational and vaulted into the top 10, and if the refs had swallowed their whistle just a few more times, WuShock very well might have won. I thought WSU might be a little overrated coming into the season, but they're proving me wrong thus far.
That said, the failure to net a signature win in Hawaii probably means Wichita State will have to win its conference to secure an NCAA Tournament bid. But defeating a highly respected San Diego State club this weekend would go a long way toward securing at-large primacy for the Shockers.
Administrative note: I'm switching to the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll for my team rankings this week, as it still has Gonzaga ranked. This is purely a cosmetic preference, of course. An additional advantage is that every Big 12 team, save Texas, is ranked the same or higher in the coaches poll. That gives us four, not three, top 10 teams. Booyah!

Baylor (5-0, 3-0 SWAC) can wrap up their first SWAC title with a win over Texas Southern.

Anybody out there??
Bored and watching Mizzou play Georgetown.
Mizzou is down at half right now. 54-47. Not to impressed yet with what I have seen out of Mizzou
Yeah, they're down by 7.
But Georgetown can’t possibly keep making 71 percent from the field, can they?
3pt baskets
Denim of Mizzou and Freeman of Gtown are going off on 3’s
him too! hahaha
Dont care about spelling so much if its not a KState player.
Mizzou got beat on a few back door cuts like we do.
Presbyterian>Zags?
Presbyterian is almost a quality win? And the Zags are not?
Mizzou did comeback from a 18pt hole in the first half
so the not give up factor is impressive
Mizzou's Safford
Seems to be playing well with the knee brace on. It doesnt seem like hes holding much back in fear of hurting it like a lot of guys do less then a year after the injury happens.
Wow
I dont care for these refs much—- but I dont really like many refs
GTown
is very sloppy with their passing. Hints the 16 TOs and Mizzous 13 steals. Numbers subject to change will these takes 10min to post
Mizzou is going to be a whole lot to handle this year.
Missed most of first half, but have been very impressed with what I’ve seen in second half.
If they can pull this out it’ll be a great win for the conference, not that anyone seems to be doubting the strength of the Big 12 this season.
FTs people
come on. Does every team suck at them???
Missouri is very perimeter based on offense.
Should be interesting when we face them. They’ll be able to put a lot of pressure on our young guards, but we should dominate the post and rebounding. Also clearly Mizzou isn’t very good at least right now at guarding against 3 pointers. Could be a good thing as long as we’re shooting 3s more like against VaTech than Duke.
lots of open holes
for 3pt shots and I agree, didnt notice much of an inside game from Mizzou
Didn't they lose Tiller and Carrol?
Those were two outstanding defensive guards…would explain the 3 point D.
