Tex Winter to Be Honored Tuesday at Bramlage
Kansas State basketball fans are encouraged to be in attendance at Tuesday’s 3 p.m. game against Virginia Tech when former head basketball coach Tex Winter is honored in a special halftime tribute as the coaching legend prepares to be inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame later this month.
The halftime ceremony will include a special video tribute, an on-court presentation by Athletic Director John Currie and remarks by Mr. K-State, Ernie Barrett.

I hope this gets a little national play
because I swear, whenever the national media talks about Tex Winter’s career, it seems like they forget about us — even though he spent 90% of his collegiate coaching career in Manhattan.
My new blog: Those Other Guys. Critiques welcome.

I’m very happy they’re doing this. I had been at K-State a while before I realized that Winter had coached there. Of course I knew all about him from watching the Bulls growing up, but didn’t know he had coached in Manhattan.
We'll carry the banner high!
