Is a Hit Job on K-State Coming on the Cam Newton Thing?

Do you recall the comments I made during the open game thread about ESPN always focusing on K-State’s recruiting of JUCO players? Part of their agenda to minimize our program? I have a bad feeling (and I hope I’m wrong) that we will get dragged through the mud on this Newton thing. Follow the jump.

Check out this article by CBS’s Dennis Dodd:

Notice how he brings up KSU and OU as perhaps being the culprits in outing the "pay for play" aspect of the continuing saga, as a way to deflect blame away from CBS’s brand, the SEC?

I’ve seen numerous other mentions when this story is discussed by the national press that Newton was considering K-State. He didn’t come here. Why bring it up?

And ESPN’s special report during half time of the Longhorn game on how some programs recruit and rely on juco players (yea, those schools that can’t get legitimate talent!)

I hope I’m wrong, but I smell an impending hit job. Watch with interest. Let’s see how the media handles this hot one, and what agendas are served. I bet Blinn gets dragged through the mud to - Franchione’s son.
