K-State Slate: 10.11.10
With Broderick Smith out for the year, it's time for someone to step up. That someone may be Chris Harper.
It's already been posted at least once here, but the K-State QB job is up for grabs heading into Thursday's game against KU.
In other games around the Big 12...
Mizzou shutout Colorado, 26-0. It's the second time in four years that Missouri has blanked the Buffs.
Texas Tech got a much-needed win in a 45-38 shootout with Baylor.
For a while, it looked like an upset was brewing in Ames, as Iowa State led Utah going into the second quarter. You couldn't tell that by the final score, as Utah buried the Clones, 68-27.

Here's hoping Harper does fill Smith's shoes
He’s talented, there’s no doubt about that, but does it really take over a year (since he sat out last year) to get used to the KSU offense? At this point I’m skeptical he’s going to be a top 3 receiver this year.
I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom. - Gen. George S. Patton
Just what I've heard....
Harper isn’t giving the effort Snyder is asking of him, especially blocking down field. I haven’t really paid attention to his effort in games, but with Snyder it is probably what he is doing on practice that dictates Harpers game time.
Good catch!
I was thinking about posting a News FanShot regarding this very thing.

I could have used that O'Hare flight in college
If they thought the drive from Mnahattan to Kansas City was bad….
