RPI WATCH: 1/28/2010
I won't say too much about the Big 12 games until tomorrow's BIG 12 OUTLOOK.
That leaves only three non-conference opponents to discuss: Alabama, Boston U. and Fort Hays State.
The Crimson Tide won, but set college basketball back several years by trailing LSU 25-23 at halftime. This was at home, mind you. But the Tigers outdid them by scoring only 13 points in the second half and losing by 19.
When did the SEC become the Big Ten South?
Boston still befuddles me as a serious conference contender. The last ignominy was a two-point loss at Maine, which looks like the America East front-runner right now. While the Black Bears are much improved, they've never been to the NCAA Tournament. The Terriers really aren't impressing right now.
And Fort Hays State just continues to roll. The Tigers are 16-1, ranked No. 3 in Division II and quite possibly the third-best team in the state. (Yeah, I said it, Shockers. Prove me wrong by winning a conference road game more than once in a blue moon.)

Thank you!
I was curious, and I would love to see WSU take on FHSU. Darned.

FHSU is for real!
It’s about time FHSU is getting some credit! They have had a good basketball program consistantly for about 15 years now. Of course they have to rebuild after each graduation class but always see them as national contenders every 3-4 years or so. Not to compare with our D-1 Kansas teams but definately something to be proud of.

I'm pretty sure FHSU gets plenty of credit at the D2 level.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

Be careful what you say to Wichita State fans
A few years ago, around 2005 when they had Turgeon they kept telling us KU fans they were now the dominate program in the state. Clearly they are very objective and reasonable fans…

They need their football team back
so that they have something else to focus on occasionally.
This space for rent.
