In hindsight,
I’m not sure why I expected UT basketball to show any more respect to its conference/foes than UT football does. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

On if this was the most physical team Texas has played…
"No it wasn’t. We played games against North Carolina and Michigan State. Those guys are physical as well. I don’t think this team was more physical than any other teams."
UNC 25pts, 15rebs
MSU 23pts, 13rebs
KSU 9pts, 7 rebs
I guess having the worst game of your season meant nothing to you as well…

I have experienced this kind of recoil
many times this year after a teams’ loss at the hands of our Wildcats…
Specifically, Alabama and UNLV fans proclaimed (via chats or in person) to me that their teams’ game against Kansas State was “the worst [they] had seen them play all year/in years”. Odd how that happens against the same team consistently… seems that would be a good indication the opposing team was/is good at basketball?

Do I smell... disrespect?
I’m waiting for Martin to start singing RESPECT. Maybe after KSU runs the Jay-chickens out of the building in a few weeks, and Self and his boys start blaming anything but a good foe for their loss.
Let's not bring up the disrespect/respect issue
because quite frankly it’s a little whiney and overdone.
I mentioned the James quote because it was just a little funny to me. In all honesty, that comment doesn’t really bother me. James is an All-American caliber player and I’d be willing to bet we wouldn’t be able to shut him down if we played them again tomorrow.
On the other hand, I’d be a little disappointed if it was Pittman who made that comment because of the way Luis Colon was playing him last night. They’re both “similar” in size and Colon kept him, for the most part, in check.

Wow
how many times did Rick Barnes say “we are a good basketball team.” That’s all I keep reading today.
Damion James and the rest of their team never seemed like they had just lost their first game of the season. I noticed some smirks on faces, and they didn’t seem to take it serious. Pretty sure KU’s players looked noticeably depressed after they lost to Tennessee and I’m sure Kentucky will too.
Just Wabash already!

Game Thoughts
Rodney McGruder
What can I say. Although he didn’t have as many points, I’d compare that performance to a certain Mr. Pullen’s breakout preformance back in 2008. I really want to see him more involved in the offense.
Luis Colon
He made one of the very few mid-to-outside jumpers in the game with that lofty 15 footer on the baseline – that’s good enough for me to earn a shout-out. But what I was real impressed with was how he handled Sexy Dexy in the paint. He played solid D by putting his hands’ up and matching him pound for pound. Excellent game Luis
Jake and Denis
Ugh….We’ll let this one slide….
Curtis Kelly
I think you fooled everybody into thinking you forgot how to score! Very nice post and drive moves. Let’s hope he continues this intensity.

Excellent game. Your numbers speak well for your level of play.

Thought I would check in with you guys and see if you had come back down to earth yet
enjoyed last night…..looks like you are gaining in the respect polls with the rest of the country, even if Texas still has a little chip on their shoulder…..
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
After
listening to Holly Rowe’s interview of Rick Barnes at half, I’m pretty sure that at that point he didn’t think there was any way they’d lose that game. I haven’t listened to Barnes speak very much, but he seems to be pretty cocky. Then again, you’ve gotta have a little of that to be good.
I’ve also heard several people whine about Bob Knight and Brent Musberger on the call. I’ll tell you what, I’d take them any day. I didn’t hear a single friekin reference to Duke, UNC, or KU. If they did mention them, it wasn’t a “these guys would get killed by them” comment. I especially appreciated that.
I prefer it them to the Big 12 Network fellas...
that like to talk about why such and such team from the Big 12 doesn’t belong in the NCAA Tournament (thanks, guys).
Hail to the Purple, Hail to the White
Wildcat in spirit, Wildcat in fight
Hail Alma Mater from sea to sea
Onward forever, Hail Victory!
I can't stand watching any game done by
Dickie V anymore. The ACC/Big East homer-ism is out of control nowadays (esp. Duke/UNC)…
