Rose Bowl: Of course, this pissed off the Rose Bowl immensely because it cost them a guaranteed shot at either Big Ten champion Ohio State or Pac-10 champion USC. The bad blood continues to this day.

The bastards just keep on winning. I'm having that same sick, inevitable feeling I had through all of 2007. I can hear Romary in my mind, lauding the Jayhawks' miracle run on The Drive with fervor. It's a nightmare, I tell you.

Seriously, they beat the defending 2006 playoff champion/actual 2007 champion. That's nuts. I remember I once simmed a game that had the '07 Squawks beating one of our 11-win teams from the '90s. Yeah, right. WhatIfSports is madly in love with that freakish season, I guess.

The good news is that Oklahoma should pound the shit out of them, and then we finally will have evidence that KU wasn't really THAT great that season - they just missed all of the good teams in the Big 12.

Either way, the Big 12 is guaranteed a return to the title game after a one-year hiatus - its first ever - so that's a positive, I suppose.
