I'm sure some of you are asking, "Wait, who's this jerkoff?" Yeah, it's been a while.

So long, in fact, that I could barely construct this post because SB Nation changed ... oh, just about everything.

Mobile commenting? Auto-tagging? TWITTER?! What the hell have you guys done with this place since I've been gone?

Just kidding. I've been lurking for a while, but only recently have I again found the time to resume participating in our weird little community.

If you're wondering where I was, the phrase that comes to mind is "indentured servitude." I accepted TB's kind invitation to begin blogging here while I was still unemployed. But then I got a part-time job in the middle of the Protest Playoff, and you saw how that affected my posting reliability.

Then the part-time job became a full-time job. Then some other people went on vacation and I got to cover for them, and the full-time job became an overtime job. And now we are two weeks from launching a brand-new Web site that I have been working on for over two months, in the midst of all the other stuff. I think you can start to see why I put BOTC on the back burner for the summer.

But that's all pretty much over with, and I knew I needed to get back in time for Big 12 media days. So, with less than two weeks until fall camp begins, I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. For now, I'll just ease back into commenting, but I've got some ideas for some new posts germinating in the back of my mind, too.

Some time in late August/early September, I will get started on my "Know Thy Enemy" Big 12 basketball previews. I've been looking forward to doing those for quite some time. And there's always that pesky Protest Playoff series I need to finish eventually...
