I hope the players aren't thinking this way, but because I'm a fan and don't have to perform tonight, I don't mind saying it: This is the biggest game in K-State baseball history. A.J. Morris is on the hill in a game that, if we win, would put us in commanding position to win the Houston Regional. A win means Rice has to survive two games in the heat and humidity of Houston tomorrow. A loss means we have to battle back through the loser's bracket. Let's get it.

Now, whoever we play tomorrow will have already played a game in the heat and humidity (91 and sunny tomorrow in Houston), and will be deeper into their pitching rotation. We need Vogel and the bullpen to be ready to go, and the bats need to get them some run support.

Before I go to bed...
…I have to say that Rice earned my respect tonight. Every hitter in their lineup battled A.J., fouling off tough pitches and taking advantage early when he wasn’t quite on. The Owls play good defense. Berry is a heck of a pitcher. Especially at home, they’re going to be a tough out.
All that said, big props to Brad Hill and the Bat Cats. For my money, there isn’t a better pitcher in the country than A.J. Morris. Nick Martini, Justin Bloxom, Jordan Cruz, Carter Jurica and others are clutch hitters. Let’s get it done tomorrow.
