K-State Slate: 4/27/2009
Click the jump for your daily K-State Wildcats news fix.
Baseball
- Man, what a weekend for the Bat Cats. They almost swept Texas until that pesky travel rule kicked in. The Cats finished the series 2-0-1 after a 6-6 tie on Sunday.
Football
- For those of you living under a rock, Josh Freeman was selected by Tampa Bay with the seventeenth pick in the draft. He will be reunited with former K-State defensive coordinator, and new Tampa Bay head coach, Raheem Morris.
- Kent Babb had a good article on Josh in yesterday's Eagle.
- Ian Campbell and Brooks Rossman signed free agent contracts with the St. Louis Rams.
Golf
- Former K-Stater, Aaron Watkins tied for seventh at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans, LA this past weekend.
Fourum
- Very dissapointing Fourum today. Come on people. Keep the political crap out of it, and stick with the absurd comments. You're in college; you don't care about politics. You care about drinking and promiscuity. Talk about that. It's funny.
Help save the environment. Don't use toilet paper.
Softball + face = pain.
There's a monster in my room. We just go smoothies over coffee. Well, I think it's quite absurd. So then he got hungry and licked his hand and tried to eat me.

Big congratulations to Watkins...
…that’s a big payday ($200,000+) and gives him some confidence. His goal is probably to stay exempt for next year, and to do that he’ll need to finish in the top 125.
Also, the Big 12 conference golf tournament starts today in Hutchinson. I’ll be providing periodic updates of that.
We'll carry the banner high!
