Dana Dimel - Running Game Coordinator (RB)

There is still one spot available for the 2009 staff.
Come up with your own pithy dialogue regarding this. I'm kind of over it.

Yeah, but most likely, the final coach will either be a QB or WR coach...
Snyder hadn’t used a ST coach in several years prior to his “retirement”, so my guess is that the final coach will take one of the two positions from Del Miller. Or, they will just go out there and find the best guy the can, and Beasley will help Miller with one of those two positions.
However, you’d have to think that on the recruiting trail, you can point at KSU and say, “What kind of coaching do you think you’ll get there with a guy splitting time at your spot and a GA filling in the gaps?” That may never happen, but you never know what people will say and what kids will believe.
They’re set on defense, so I’d imagine that the final coach will probably be a position coach on the offensive side of the ball.

And the answer is...
Michael Smith!
I don’t know what’s funnier: K-State’s perpetually shitty luck (rehire a legend, only to get back his entire last crappy staff), or the GPCnik’s hilarious attempts to spin this as some sort of a positive thing.
I was already probably going to let my season tickets go (can’t really afford them anymore), but this seals it. I don’t need to watch 2004 again – I didn’t enjoy it that much the first time.
To me, the biggest disappointment after 2003....
(with the exception of the Raheem Morris 1-year span) has been with defense. Bret Bielema left for Wisconsin leaving Bob Elliott as sole DC in 2004 & 2005. Fortunately, Elliott is not our DC anymore. Of course, Mo, Joe Bob and Cosh were part of that staff…maybe it won’t be so bad with new guys in charge…I don’t know.

I'm done hoping in spite of facts on the ground
Contrary to what the Kool-Aid drinkers want to believe, Rivals is not completely incompetent at their job. Even the great Bill Snyder couldn’t coach up the weak talent we had in 2004-2005, and he won’t be able to coach up this weak talent, either. Now that we see what it takes to succeed in basketball, why do some persist in thinking the rules are any different for football?
As for the defensive staff, I’ve heard this tune before. Until they actually go out and play better, I’m not handing out any awards. Besides, I’m not sure Vic will be here all that long and I will go on record right now as guaranteeing that the first person HCBS will turn to if Vic leaves will be Bobby MF’ing Elliott.
If that happens...
I’ll be the first to demand Snyder re-retire. Let VK be head coach.

Well, maybe not first.
I’m sure others are wishing it right now.
