In lieu of me actually doing a game preview myself, check out RMN's preview of tonight's game. Solid analysis from the other side, acknowledging that K-State is a tough matchup for Mizzou.

I will only note for clarification that Denis Clemente's cheap shot was in response to an actual cheap shot, not a perceived one. Don't make the mistake I made of focusing on Morningstar's left hand, as it's his right hand that goes nut-hunting.

Big, big game.

We got help from BYU and Ohio State last night, but Providence knocking off Pitt hurt all other bubble teams.

K-State’s got to treat this like a tournament game – from the tip, chaos on defense and energy and execution on offense.

Take the crowd out early and make Mizzou panic.

How the hell did I (and everybody else at first)

miss that punch to the gut? Morningstar clearly came at Denis’ midsection with a closed fist.

Oh yeah, Mizzou… We’re going to have to make some shots early and often.

Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.

I missed it...

…because when I watched the replays, I focused on his left hand. Because Clemente was moving to Morningstar’s left, I figured that would be where the shot came from. Turns out I was very much mistaken.

We'll carry the banner high!

A punch like that would probably not do too much damage...

but it sure is offensive.

Well, neither we're any of Clemente's

but it’s the intentions that everyone has a problem with.

Here's my question:

It sure looked intentional…but how the hell was that intentional? This does not compute for me. He had to have been thinking about nutting him well in advance to pull that off, plus he almost had to know that Clemente was going to go to his right. Just weird. Either he was going for a shield of his own crotch and failed miserably (and deserves to be hated), or he does this all the time to guys without getting noticed, and he’s the second coming of Jarrod Haase (and really deserves to be hated).

The closed fist

is enough proof for me. And add the fact that he’s a jayhawk, he deserves to be hated.

Just a hunch...

but you might have missed “it” because nothing really happened. The very first contact of the entire exchange is Clemente’s left arm pushing off Morningstar’s neck as he goes right. Like the boy said, to actually think that Morningstar was able to pre-determine that he would not only go right, but do so with his left arm up like that (which is what you’d have to conclude if you really thinking he’s cocking back a closed fist on purpose) is pretty presumptuous.

By all means, presume away, because all these stories have really taken on a Magic Loogie type fabrication…

i really like this comment, and yes i changed it

KU FANS are the kind of single-toothed, liquor-soaked, foulmouthed vermin that real vermin cross the street to avoid. K-State fans are fiercely loyal.

GO CATS!!! Keep playing hard!!!

It's funny...

TB retorts back with a pretty humorous and even mature comment (no easy feat).

And then KSU Fan comes back with, well, whatever that was…

Spot on analysis from Bracketology 101, which lists tonight as one of its six most notable games tonight

http://bracketology101.blogspot.com/2009/02/six-pack-for-wednesday_25.html

Kansas State at Missouri
In most years, a team with Kansas State’s resume wouldn’t be in the field right now. But this year, with no one seeming to want the last few at-large spots, the Wildcats are hanging on to one of the final bids – barely. Kansas State’s computer numbers aren’t pretty – their RPI is 75 and their non-conference SOS is 313 – but they’ve managed to pick up some big wins in conference to keep themselves in the mix (at Texas, Missouri, at Texas A&M). Their win over Texas looks even nicer now that the Longhorns beat Oklahoma, and their road win at A&M is huge considering the Aggies, after their miracle win at Nebraska, are still very much alive in the Big XII bubble picture. If the Wildcats were to win this game and complete a season sweep of the Tigers, they’d be in great shape to finish 10-6 and get a bid given the schedule they have left (this game, Nebraska, at Oklahoma State, Colorado). A loss here would make their game against the Cowboys a must-win if they want to stay in the at-large discussion. For Missouri, this game is must if they have any hopes at winning the Big XII title. The Tigers, who have won six in a row, currently sit a game a half behind Kansas and a half game behind Oklahoma in the standings. They play the Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse on Sunday and then host the Sooners (and we assume Blake Griffin) next Wednesday.

By the way, the bubble has severely reduced my work productivity

And I’m pissed the game isn’t on Full Court in Philly tonight. Instead, I get Mississippi State-Tennessee (no thanks).

Ah, to be back in the central time zone…

don't you get ESPNU?

because that’s where it’s being broadcasted

No ESPNU

Cable in Philly is Comcast, which doesn’t carry it.

Ouch

although I can never watch any FSN games unless we play A&M or UT.
