RPI WATCH: 12/14/2009
No. 17 AP and No. 22 ESPN/USA Today!
As I hinted yesterday, our recently defeated foe, the Xavier Musketeers, picked up a great win over ranked Cincinnati in a double-overtime thriller that threatened to break out into a brawl at several points.
Meanwhile, our version of Alcorn State, winless Arkansas-Pine Bluff, got whomped in Stillwater. That game will have a wonderful effect on our RPI...

I was confused by this in Sporting News:
Mike DeCourcy had Oklahoma as the rising team and Kansas State as the falling team…correction:
any offense that comes into contact with the Kansas State defense
Hail to the Purple, Hail to the White
Wildcat in spirit, Wildcat in fight
Hail Alma Mater from sea to sea
Onward forever, Hail Victory!

I don't get how the sporting news has Tech second...
in the big 12 in this article. Have any of them actually looked at their schedule and watched the games. They have beaten one decent yet overrated team at home in overtime. Their RPI reflects an easy schedule. I think Tech will lose to Wichita State Saturday (first true road test) and New Mexico in a week or so. They haven’t even played outside of Texas yet I believe. To put them over Texas and Kstate right now is just ignorant in my opinion but maybe I’m crazy.

Agreed
On all points.
But it’s early. And to be fair, Texas and Kansas simply haven’t played anybody yet.

The only opinion that I care about
is those of the NCAA Selection Commitee – not the Sporting News.
