Dear Kansas University (so-called)
Ahem.
Fuck you.
That's what you get for defacing Vanier and the Powercat.
We'll see you bitches on Jan. 30, 2010. In the meantime, please enjoy the rest of your wretched nightmare of a "History... uh... waits" season.
P.S. Please beat Nebraska. That is all.

Apologies for the apparent vandalism...
not a classy move by any means and certainly in poor taste.
Also hats of to Kansas State. They put a hat on a hat and play 60 minutes of football. Kansas certainly has it’s problems but I won’t take anything away from what Snyder has done. Kansas State turned this into exactly the kind of game they wanted it to be and beat us. Congrats.
Beyond that, I look forward to January.

It'll be fun
Thanks for being a good sport. I can’t say that about some of your compatriots at RCT, unfortunately.

it was a tough day for some...
like it or not 2007 seriously inflated expectations in Lawrence. We kind of got the cart before the horse if you will. What we need to do is be a consistent 7,8 win team with at least 4 wins per year in conference before we can really start concerning ourselves with history. I’m optimistic in the long term but this year is turning into a swift kick in the nuts.

not sure if it's been linked as a story anywhere but...
I guess there was some red and blue paint or something on the Vanier and Powercat overnight. Think it was all cleaned up before anyone really got there but there was something about that going around the web. I’m not honestly sure what it was but bracket seems to have heard it as well.

Not just Vanier
People’s cars, too. That’s where they took it too far.

I can confirm it...
…but it was water-based paint. It wasn’t serious, destructive vandalism.

seems kind of convenient...
water based paint so no serious damage. Done while security was switching shifts. Cleaned up in plenty of time before anyone had arrived to see it. Bill Snyder using it to motivate his team.
Are you sure this wasn’t a little extra motivational ploy by Snyder. I’d say good for him if it was.

thats crap.
i dont think bill is that stupid to do something like that. he would never deface the Powercat. thats a little far for a coach like BIll. i dont know if it worked or not, but if it did give our guys more motivation, then thanks KU!!! you can now sit at the bottom of the north and try to salvage this season, some how.
Good job Cats, i was not able to watch the game but i was getting updates, all day long. Im proud of what has occurred this season. i didnt know what to think when bill came in but knew that it was going to be better than anything prince could ever have done. but this is mind-blowing that we have come this far in a year’s time. i cant even imagine whats to come when billl builds on this season and adds to this offense and defense and has his hand in everything. next season will be a fun one, but im not moving on from this season yet, alot is still to happen.
One more win and we are bowl eligible. We win next week we are undefeated at home for the first time in i dont know how many years?? help me out.
With an Neb loss tonight and a win next week, we have clinched the division.
Im proud of what K-State has done this year. Build on it and we could be looking good for years to come.

relax...
apologize if my sarcasm didn’t come through in the Bill Snyder painting comment. Look up the page pal and you’ll see I said it was a classless stunt. Seriously though, you don’t think he’d “deface the Powercat” if it meant he’d win the North? : )
Completely agree with what you say though, K-State should absolutely be proud of what they’ve accomplished this season especially because it’s taken a top down maximum effort throughout the program. If you do manage to win the North I’d say it’s pretty obvious this isn’t the best K-State team to do so, but it certainly has to be the one that has been the most pleasant surprise.

Absolutely agreed on the last comment...
…and I think we all need to just have a good laugh about the “vandalism” stuff. If it would have been real paint, then I’d be pretty pissed. As it was, it’s kind of funny. My favorite comment was a text I got from Curtis Kitchen.
“LOL, they can’t even do vandalism right”

I might just put that on my facebook page
No kidding about defacing the powercat. Only opposing fans do that kind of stuff but EMAW seems to stay a little longer than KU’s idea of vandalism.
I wish we could have led the game by a few more points today but I thought we were in control for most of the game even when it was 0-0 and 3-7. Unfortunately those deep passes weren’t being caught today and KU wasn’t kicking to Mr. Lightning in a Bottle, both of which would have opened up the game a little more. Glad to get a win against KU, and looking forward to 2 more in the next couple weeks.

hey jhawk
i know it was sarcasm, but it still brings up an interesting way to get guys motivated for a big game. Ive read the whole page. i know it was classless, thats why i dont believe snyder had anything to do with it. he created the powercat. that was part of his idea to change the program, to change the image.

Wont matter if KU beats NU (unless we fall to CU as well)
You’ll have to beat us in Lincoln.

The first to 14 wins that game...
KSU vs. NU will be a snoozer. Neither team is an offensive juggernaut, but here are two things we know…
1) NU is a bad offensive football team
2) KSU is a bad offensive football team, but Bill Snyder usually finds a way to move the ball
I think NU wins that game in Lincoln, but the real losers will be everyone who has the vested interest and misfortune to watch what could be an awful football game.

Why the evil laugh?
I see nothing about Nebraska that scares me. Your defense is awesome, but it’s not like we were going to just line up and outscore you anyway. That game will come down to turnovers and special teams. I’ll bet right now that Grant Gregory doesn’t throw five interceptions, if for no other reason than Snyder may not let him throw the ball five times.

Why not? I am happy NU beat OU.
and how have you guys played om the road? I’m happy that the game is in Lincoln as well.
Oh and you should be scared of Suh. Very scared. Jones was B12 player of the week last week, this week not so much. I really don’t think KSU will be able to move the ball at all. Course neither will NU, but then again it’s in Lincoln. Ah well you have the Tigers and we have KU, then we can engage in the smack talk.
Last thought, why does Whitlock hate KSU? He’s more than happy to jump from KU to MU bandwagon, but always dogs KSU.

Sadly...the north will be settled by the schedule
We will probably lose in Lincoln, but probably would have won in Manhattan. Just the wrong year for us to be battling. Give NU credit for beating OU, or at least give the defense credit. Had they lost, I’d be buying my tickets to Texas. But we can be happy to tie the north and get a bowl knowing a huge amount of our talent is back next year.

I'm not conceding a goddamn thing until the clock in Lincoln hits zero and they have more points than us
We’re talking about half a team here. They have NO offense.

Believe
Isn’t playing in Norman comparable to playing in Lincoln?(Especially this year more than past years) Considering we played very well for three quarters in Norman, and I think we would have won had the first quarter not been so horrible, shouldn’t we call it fairly even against Nebraska. After all our team has shown we can match up with a power team in the south(excluding the Tech game from this theory) and I suppose Nebraska would be considered a power team from the north as well. And also, with Bill Snyder on our sideline, I’m not counting us out of anymore games until he retires again, which hopefully isn’t too soon.
