I changed it to Sports Illustrated, but thanks to TheGoodOmen for posting this. Even with a lot of big football games remaining, we have an exciting winter of basketball to anticipate.

Martin on Colon/A changed Frank

“All he knows is brute force.” Yes, that pretty much sums it up.

Is anyone else leary of Frank’s positivity? I prefer a pissed off Frank that doesn’t make excuses for a bad practice, but humiliates a player for a bad practice. That seemed to work in previous seasons.

Just be cautious

While DK was not the most dominate force down on the block, he was more of an offensive threat than people give him credit for, and he could step up and hit shots from the outside. Hopefully, someone can replace him… but when someone says that our 4-star recruit doesn’t even have a post move, that worries me.

I’m just saying that we need to be cautious of the hype. Maybe there’s a reason Kelly didn’t play at UConn. I don’t want to look back and have a “History Awaits” moment in February. Yes, this reporter only saw a single practice, but with the rumors after the basketball scrimmage before the CU game and after the scrimmage with WSU, I’ll believe our new posts are here to save the day when I see it.

As much as we feel this new class improves our team, the entire Big 12 is improving right along with us. We just need to focus on getting better everyday and not worry about things like “Why is Texas ranked above us in the preseason?” I guess if that motivates you…

I’m just a nervous wreck about basketball season and I’m ready for it to start. Get here Sunday!

Re: replacing DK

That role will fall to Jamar, who demonstrated the ability to hit the 3 last season but rarely could take the shot because he had to play in the post for us. I love DK, but there is NO question we have upgraded our length and athleticism considerably.

I’m going to trust Fitz, Stan and other knowledgeable sources re: CK before I trust Luke Winn, who watched ONE practice. They all agree that Curtis is the key to our success and that he has been very impressive in practice. I’m not worried at all. As for Wally, yeah, he probably will be unpolished. But go watch his film. He’ll still dunk on fools and grab rebounds like crazy.

I just don’t understand why anyone would be worried about this season at all. We return 90% of our key players and added some major talent through recruiting, including a kid with a 7’6" wingspan who might be one of the few players in the Big 12 that actually can give Aldrich trouble. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the best BB season in 20 years.

Thanks, I’ll try. I’m just trying not to get my hopes too high. I know there’s probably no reason to worry, but I’d rather be pleasantly surprised than extremely disappointed.
