online?

Anyone found a channel online? What’s happened to our D?

Bend but don't break

Held them to a field goal.

That’s a win.

We need to solve that damn bubble screen – fast.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 11:41 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

we stopped 'em

they only scored a field goal

Go 'Cats!!!

Epic fail.

The only position group that has shown no improvement this season?

Wide receivers.

Coached by Michael Smith.

Bill, Panjandrum and I told you so.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 12:13 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Wow, we got issues

Could have been 10-3 Cats, but a dumb fumble, a bad play on 3rd down, another bad play on 3rd down (penalty), and a dumb pass defense play by Hartman – and we’re down 10-3.

Fuck. Mizzou offense has lots of confidence right now. We will have to score to win.

What a momentum swing.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 12:19 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Yep, time for shootout mode.

Just keep it close so we can win with their 2nd half collapse.

by ohiocats84 on Nov 14, 2009 12:21 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

This is a HUGE third down.

Good use of the timeout by Bill.

We really need a TD here, not a FG.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 12:30 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Oy

We really need to get seven at some point.

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 12:35 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Let's hope so!

That would give us a great advantage at half!

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 12:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm just glad it's national

This is one of the few I’ve actually been able to see this season.

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 12:42 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I'd thank Versus

Stop showing that graphic of how many games we’ve lost when losing at half.

I want Snyder to do some major butt-chewing at half. Defense better have no butts when they come back out for the third quarter!

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 12:58 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

That record is all Prince

We trailed Mizzou by three TDs in 2004 at halftime. We won the game.

We trailed Mizzou by two TDs in 2005 in the fourth quarter. We won the game.

Snyder owns Pinkel. Mizzou hasn’t scored a TD in the 2nd half yet, and they won’t today.

Keep up the positive energy!

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 1:03 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking! I was like…can we show Snyder’s record against Pinkel because I don’t think ol’ Gary has ever gotten the best of Snyder.

I remember that game in 2004. GREAT game…I remember D.Sproles just exploding, leaving Mizzou’s defense in their wake. We also should have lost to them in 2005 but the players weren’t going to let Snyder go out on a loss.

Keeping up the positiveness because, let’s face it, WE NEED THIS ONE!!! Go State!

brb going to go change what is obviously an unlucky shirt.

Good idea

I had to put on more purple.

by ohiocats84 on Nov 14, 2009 1:37 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Even the field goal is good there

Burden of proof is on the defense. They must make adjustments and get some stops.

But now that it’s a one-possession game, we can stay with the run.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 1:25 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Heh

I’m apparently being slightly loud. My cat’s hiding under the bed and my next-door neighbor has turned up his stereo.

Glad to see some stops, now we just need a touchdown.

There we go Snipes!

I think our WRs have the athletic skill to make plays if we get the ball to them.

by ohiocats84 on Nov 14, 2009 1:39 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

just me or...

Have we not gotten a call in the second half yet?

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 1:42 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

None

That absolutely should have been a 15-yard facemask on Spoon. Totally ridiculous no-call.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 1:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Absolutely

And how about that nice pass interference earlier? Last time I checked, you cannot shove the receiver out of the way just to keep him from being able to catch a pass.

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 1:44 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Penalties

We can’t say penalties going our way would have changed this game, but from the stands, it seemed like the refs were just not watching what Mizzou was doing. A holding here, a non-fumble there which goes for a touchdown, not calling pass interference. Calling them would have definitely affected the game I’d say although probably would not have changed the outcome.

GO STATE!!!!

by wabasher on Nov 14, 2009 7:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

OK Only 2 more FGs to go.

And the players carry Josh Cherry off on their shoulders as he kicks a game winning FG with seconds to go. Just wait.

by ohiocats84 on Nov 14, 2009 1:43 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

At least....

I’m not flinching anymore when Josh Cherry takes the field.

They don’t call us the Comeback Cats for nothing.

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 1:57 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

WTF? Are we just quitting now?

I guess this game doesn’t really matter if we beat NU next week, right?

by ohiocats84 on Nov 14, 2009 2:03 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I think we also need Nebraska to lose one of their two remaining games as well.

I would have felt more comfortable with this win going into the final week and not needing to go into Memorial to win to be bowl eligible.

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 2:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

No we don't

If we beat them, we’re both 5-3.

by BracketCat on Nov 14, 2009 2:06 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

This is why I haven’t taken a math class since high school. :P

by Wenders on Nov 14, 2009 2:07 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Correct

Nebraska is a much better matchup for us because they can’t score.

I think this actually works well for us. Now we have to win not just to win the North, but to go to a bowl. I think it will help us focus.

Also, no one will pick us this week, so Nebraska will have all the pressure. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

They just need to get this loss out of their system and get pissed off about their effort, and bring it next week.

We still can accomplish all of our goals.

Specious argument.

True

I guess we’ll just have to decide it on the field, won’t we?

Fine with me – I hate comparative scoring anyway.

We can't decide it here and now?

We could just let the coaches know what we worked out. I’m sure everyone would be fine with that.

Might have to go with Gabbert at the moment

The all-star team would most likely be a run-first offense (A nice platoon between Thomas, Helu, and Robinson would be pretty impressive) and I think Gabbert is the only one who could make plays to prevent defenses putting 10 in the box…

The north has a pretty good group of playmakers at the skill positions, but I agree with the O-line. That might be the only achilles heel on this all-star team. That’s one position where size truly does matter….

The defense would be pretty damn stout (considered there would most likely be half a dozen blackshirts starting).

Next week

If we play like we did against OU or KU, do you think it’s possible we win next week or will it take an over the top game like A&M to do it, where everything is clicking and going our way? I think we could hold Neb to less than 20 points and score more than that, but we had better be more motivated than we were today.

GO STATE!!!!

Yes, their performance against Iowa State earlier gave me some hope. Plus, our guys usually play better when they are under pressure.

Just blast a little Queen in the locker room this week and we’ll be fine!

Plus, Snyder always manages to come through.

Yes if NU turns in over 8 times

you will probably win the game as well.

If NU turns it over 8 times

and we don’t win, then it’s an absolute sign we don’t deserve a bowl game.

Although, with our offense, we may turn 8 turnovers into 9 points.

Nu’s up 7, so I guess this one is already over.

Man, I hate KU

But Larry Asante ABSOLUTELY should have been ejected for that helmet-to-helmet hit on Reesing as he slid to the ground.

Inexcusable.

For once, I agree with Mangino. Ugh. That felt dirty to say.

What it comes down to...

First perception is that K-State started believing their own press…or maybe Mizzou’s. Total lack of focus from the opening kick. Banks stretching for a TD when it wasn’t necessary…Houlik a dropped gift…Thomas left leg down and then the strip called for a turnover…defensive back letting Alexander rip the interception out of his hand for a TD. On Versus you can clearly see the facemask penalty on Spoon…ref is right there watching him tackle him by his lower facemask. But let’s give Mizzou some credit they came in motivated and ready to play. We had no answer for Alexander…no pressure on the QB once again. The last TD drive looked like we mailed it in…every running play was to the left and no answer. Tackling devolved again…bad angles to wide receivers…Alexander 2nd TD comes to mind. Loss of gap responsibility. The bright spot was Cherry who may have turned in his best performance of the year. Too bad he wasn’t this good in Lafayette or we wouldn’t have to go into Lincoln for all the marbles. I think this is the first time in Big 12 history that a team comes into its last game with a chance to win the division on one hand but on the other if they fail they do not become bowl eligible. As a final thought I hope we can show more balance in Lincoln. A balanced attack today would have kept us in the game and perhaps won it. MU sold out most of the game by packing 8 in the box and daring us to throw. Also, I can’t remember a game where Mastrud was so quiet…where was our TE? Next week comes down to one word, “focus”. We must play as Mizzou did today or we will not go bowling and I really miss watching K-State in any bowl during the holiday season. Go K-State.
