Open Game Thread: KSU vs Loyola-Chicago

Better late than never. Again, we'll skip the visuals since I'm incompetent and can't find a good Loyola logo. Here's to the start of a successful K-State basketball season.

Wow, that didn't come up like I thought I would.

BTW, apparently Surewest is a bunch of liars. My TV says I should be seeing Loyola-Chicago, yet I have a re-run of the Big 12 Showcase.

WTF????

Ahhh

there we are. Must have been an FSN problem. Although I still can’t see the score. Interesting tidbit, my former roommate is the PA announcer tonight.

Vewy, vewy sloppy

Lots of miscommunication and inconsistent effort.

Jamar on the bench with two dumb fouls. Ojeleye and Merriewether getting lots of minutes – a sure sign that Frank is not happy with the effort level right now.

Ugly half, but we finally pulled away

And hit our goal again: Hold a team to 20 or less points in the first half.

Frank is pissed. Said they had a horrible practice yesterday and wasted three hours, and now they are playing like it. Wouldn’t want to be the guys right about now.

Early returns are in: Jake and Curtis are by far our best players. Denis is forcing things and isn’t in midseason form, but I’m not writing him off yet. Nick is a freakin’ stud.

Victor and Chris are making some nice hustle plays, and Jordan is having another nice game.

Not seeing much out of Wally and Rodney yet. I think Frank needs to break them down a little (let them know they’re not BMOC anymore) before he can build them up again into Big 12 players.

This game should be over

60 fouls called.

Somebody please steal the ref’s whistles after this game and bury them somewhere. Jeez.

92-54 final

And Frank said we still sucked in the 2nd half, but we just made some more shots.

If that’s us sucking, then I shudder to think what we will look like at the top of our game.

I love that he has high standards, though. He knows how good KU is and what it will take to beat them.

Frank sounds just like Bill

right now. He knows how good we can be and so no matter how good you may play, there’s still stuff to be worked on. He was furious with Curtis’s defense, and rebounding.
