Open Game Thread: K-State vs. Texas A&M
Texas A&M Aggies at Kansas St. Wildcats, Oct 17, 2009 6:00 PM CDT

Who: K-State vs. Texas A&M
When: October 17, 2009 | 6:00 p.m.
Where: Manhattan, Kan. | Bill Snyder Family Stadium (50,000)
Media: 1350 KMAN | Fox College Sports
It's a big weekend in the Big 12. Down in Dallas, the next installment of the Red River Shootout kicks off at 11 a.m. inside the Cotton Bowl. After that, stay in your seats for the "North vs. South Referendum" when Nebraska takes on Texas Tech in Lincoln (2:30 p.m., ABC) and Mizzou travels to Stillwater (8:15 p.m., ESPN2). While the K-State game is on, you can flip channels over to FSN to see if KU's defense will be any better this weekend as they take on Colorado.
Of course, all that is just window dressing for what's happening at Harley Day in Manhattan.
Go Cats!

So Bradford's out again
You have to think this is starting to damage his draft stock.
And even despite that, Texas can’t do shit and is losing 0-6.

Wow, Colt McCoy really looks like shit today
Flush goes the Heisman.
That said, kudos to the OU defense for stepping up big. But this game is very winnable for UT if they just could find some offense.
by BracketCat on Oct 17, 2009 12:20 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Wow, Oklahoma is totally self destructing to end the half
First a muffed punt to put Texas in position for a field goal, and now a fumble on the kickoff.
Go Shorthorns! I want a MNC participant for the Big 12 and they’re the only ones left.
by BracketCat on Oct 17, 2009 12:47 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
And then McCoy fumbles it right back to OU five yards out from the end zone
Hey, Colt, you ain’t Vince Young. Learn to slide.
by BracketCat on Oct 17, 2009 12:53 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
And another fumble right back to Texas on the 1-yard line
when all OU had to do was take a knee and go to halftime up 6-3.
This has been one of the sloppiest, most physical games I can remember in the Big 12 in years.
Love it.
Oh, and three tough replay calls already. OU and UT fans are going to debate this one for years, regardless of the outcome.

Oh, sorry
Guess OU has the ball on the 1 after recovering. My bad.

So is everyone still tailgating or what?
Wish I could have got away from work to go see the game. I don’t get FCS, so I’ll probably have to Wyattvision it tonight, unless some enterprising individual puts up a stream somewhere.

are you sure...
You want to see this? Unless Snyder has some magic shit up his sleeve I’m afraid it might be ugly.

Hey, no biggie
Who could have known that Bill Snyder did, indeed, have magic shit up his sleeve?
by BracketCat on Oct 19, 2009 10:03 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Never again..
will I doubt the magic shit Snyder has up his sleeve.

In Bill's magic shit sleeve we trust.

Texas a perfect short field and a perfect chance to salt the game away
And McCoy throws it right back to the OU defense.
Was this guy seriously ever a Heisman candidate this season? Cause he’s not anymore.
by BracketCat on Oct 17, 2009 2:37 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Luckily, the Texas defense has his back
With yet another interception. What is that, the 8th turnover in this game?
One thing’s for sure — Texas will get murdered by either Florida or Alabama.

so is anyone...
At the game? Let me know. I’m here with the wife sans children. If anyone is doing anything email me @ osterhausjb@hotmail.com.

So, my prediction of a Nebraska win looks pretty stupid right now
Nubbs trail 13-0 after an 82-yard fumble return by Texas Tech. Memorial Stadium sounds more like Memorial Cemetery right now.

I would have gladly preferred 13 down compared to 35 down.

Cats recover a fumble to start the game
And D-Train punches it in for a 7-0 lead.
Then we get a 6-and-out and it’s K-State ball again.
by BracketCat on Oct 17, 2009 6:23 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Wow
D-Train with two TDs. Cats lead 17-0 and EVERYTHING is going our way right now.
It’s almost too good to be true.
I guess this answers the question of whether Bill could pick them up, dust them off and get them ready to play again after next week.
We’re not in the Ron Prince era anymore.

THREE TDs
Offensive Player of the Week?
Also, maybe A&M is a wee bit overrated.
Road games tend to expose that.

I need to miss more first halves...
So, I go out with my wife for our anniversary, spend some time wandering around a Pottery Barn, and I come home and we’re up 38-0. Seriously?
I knew Mike Sherman was a no talent ass clown, but he’s being mind raped by Bill Snyder. Jesus H. Christ.
And Moore with another INT. A&M fans should call for Sherman’s firing pronto because we’re not that good.

Beergut actually tried to argue with me last week that Sherman was good.
Bet we don’t see that guy around here for a while.
by BracketCat on Oct 17, 2009 8:04 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
You can't argue with the plain and simple fact that A&M hires shit coaches.
Sherman is a fool, and we’ve chronicled why.
Mark Turgeon is a human piece of trash that can suck every ball in the corps.
I don’t have anything against A&M itself, but their coaches are pathetic.

In other news, KU is losing to CU 27-17 midway through the 3rd quarter.
I still think KSU can beat CU at home. If so, that’s a good start to Big 12 play.
I’m very surprised at how KSU came out tonight. Very happy. Very impressed.

KU is pulling out all the stops tonight
Fake punt throw to a TE, double throwback passes…
They’ll probably win, but it’s encouraging that it took every trick in the Fat Man’s book to do it.
Tech will MURDER them.

CU still doesn't impress me. KSU will have to beat themselves for CU to win in Manhattan.
Frodo got sacked. Nice job Toddles.

Wow
What a day!
A) I thought KSU would win today, but I didn’t think it would be an absolute blood letting.
B) I really need to start gambling again, that -10 Line for Nebraska was SUCH an obvioius line to play against (people forget that this time last year TT was, what, #10 in the nation?)
C) SO glad Colorado won, though I think it makes next wee a little tougher. I’ve liked that Hanson kid @ QB since he cam in vs us last year, he reminds me ALOT of Reesing. Hopefully they’ll get fat & happy after a big win (we know BIll isn’t going to let that happen to our guys)
BOOM! ROASTED!

Welp, Mizzou just had its fourth turnover of the game
I feel safe saying they will lose.
So where does that leaves us?
The “North-tards” all won: Colorado, Iowa State and us.
The “power teams” all lost: Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
We once again are in sole possession of 1st place at 2-1. The North is wide open.
Guess we were a wee bit too quick to declare the season over just yet. Our bad.
