Jayhawk Musical...I think the punchline writes itself.

Maybe I'm just making it worse, but I think it's genuinely funny.
Obviously, they aren’t making this because they are in love with the HSM movies. It is quite obviously a poke-fun sort of movie, and they do a pretty decent job of doing that. The singing part, with Conner Teahan and the volleyball chick was laugh-out-loud funny, at least to me.
I understand it’s easy to make fun, and it is definitely in that ballpark, but I thought it was genuinely funny.
Again, that probably just makes it worse.
I think it's funny, too...
…but probably for a different reason.
I wish Connor Teahen played more often. I’d love to hear opposing student sections serenade him.

Videos like that, the Power Towel video, and whatever the hell Nebraska did
are just embarassing. Who are these idiots who come up with these ideas and think that this is a good idea.
Although I do say that this is a great video for basketball recruiting….for K-State.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
The difference, though, is that this was made for the Girl's Volleyball team.
Not by the AD to promote the football team.
It is entirely different, in lots of ways, from the Power Towel thread, for instance.
And, in case none of you have little siblings/children/whatever, those exact scenes are in the HSM movies. Like when Connor and the chick were singing; that was a direct copy of a scene in one of the HSM’s. It wasn’t like they just came up with that stuff.
But yeah, I think it was just something fun to do.
Looking at the info thing on the YouTube on the site.
It didn’t have anything to do with the AD. It was just members of the women’s volleyball team and men’s basketball team joining to make some video for Jayrock, or whatever. A student film-festival.
It’s not meant as a promotion or nothing; just to be funny for a student video competition.
That almost makes it worse
Our athletic department at least realized how stupid the power towel video was and never used it at a game. Here, student athletes willingly participated in this farce.
And like the kids on South Park, I don’t care how popular “High School Musical” gets. It’s still stupid and I still won’t pay any attention to it.

It's not different at all
The Power Towel video was always meant to be tongue-in-cheek parody, too, but reaction to it soon convinced the powers that be to never show it publicly.
Of course, Jayhawk fans like to conveniently forget that. Well, guess what – joke’s on you now. Suck it up and deal with the ribbing like we’ve had to do.
sorry once again all that needs to be said is...

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
Ah yes, and there it is again
And that picture would only be relevant if we were talking about the actual success of any team in the video.
We’re not, but we just think it’s a little gay.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
Fair enough...
I’m just glad that in our case, unlike yours with the power towel, we can talk about the success of the team if we needed to.
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
There's just somethings
that can’t be justified by anything. Regardless of success.
The power towel incident can not be justified by any means. We’re just glad we now have something to counter act with.
Kind of like a small playground interaction, “You’re so stupid because you have the power towel.” “Oh yeah? Well you’re so stupid because you did the jayhawk musical.” Then the recess bell rings and it’s back to class…or work….
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
Excellent Analogy...
I’ll stop there
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
I'm tempted to delete that bullshit
But I won’t.

Maybe....
the comparisons I’ve heard between KU and high school aren’t so far off after all, I agree it’s funny but they chose the HSM song which makes it kinda weird
GO STATE!!!!
Umm......
Yeah so I was like…….when they did the…….ahh……WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT FOR?
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
I passed this along to some buddies yesterday
Meant to get it up here, but glad to see it made it.
Pros – Hot chick
Cons – EVERYTHING ELSE!
I was only able to make it through about half the video, and then I skipped to the end. I was close to projectile vomiting. Oh, and I don’t care if it came from the AD, a sorority, or someone’s Blackberry, it’s freaking hilarious. And not the good kind of hilarious. My question is why HSM? Am I that old (26) or that out of touch that I didn’t realize HSM has invaded the college demographic? To me, that’s what makes it funny. If it was a parody of, say, a popular rock or hip-hop song, I could understand the comedy.
However, it’s only a matter of time before we do something to totally redeem KU for this. I just know it…..
Well the more I think about it
It seems less as a parody and seems more like the basketball team is trying to catch up with the jumping jayhawk football team.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
This jumping jayhawk football team?
Hail to the Purple, Hail to the White
Wildcat in spirit, Wildcat in fight
Hail Alma Mater from sea to sea
Onward forever, Hail Victory!
Of course.
that image has been burned into my memory as the first thing I think of when I think jayhawk football.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
