Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Mike Gundy is at it again.

I'm a MAN! I'm 40!

Star-divide

Ok this post has nothing to do with the infamous rant, but how could I resist?

This time, during the Big 12 media days, he suggested a change in the schedule. To sum it up he threw out the idea of getting rid of the North and South divisions and playing 11 conference games each year with one non-conference game. Although it might be interesting to try out for a year and it would eliminate teams like KU getting to the national spotlight like last year, what the hell was he thinking?

I love the fact that he tried backing up his theory that it would cut down on financial costs because they wouldn't have to travel as far since conference teams are closer. Really? How many teams now actually travel to their non-conference games? Once every two years? Sounds like it would be more expensive to me to travel to an additional conference foe or two a year. I'm not a math or business major, but I don't think Gundy is either.

And yes, I don't think they'll be accepting his proposal either.

Not gonna happen

Husker Mike touched on this today. This would create serious problems in regard to comparing Big 12 teams against other conferences. With only one non-con game, and that most likely against a cupcake, we really wouldn’t know how good our best teams were in comparison to those from other conferences.

In theory, I like the idea of playing everybody in your conferences. But football just doesn’t lend itself to that long of a season. Now if we were back in the days of the Big 8, different story.

We'll carry the banner high!

Hmm…with Mr. Boon Pickens behind him, I wouldn’t think that he’d be all that worried about money. I just think that OSU can’t compete with anyone outside of their conference. Besides…the Big 12 has enough problems in bowl games…this would make it that much worse….not to mention the lack of national media coverage if they only played within their region.
